but we found only one muslim house .
በውስጧም ከሙስሊሞች ከአንድ ቤት ( ቤተሰቦች ) በስተቀር አላገኘንም ፡ ፡

they said : we found our fathers worshipping them .
« አባቶቻችንን ለእርሷ ተገዢዎች ኾነው አገኘን » አሉት ፡ ፡

they said , ' we found our fathers serving them . '
« አባቶቻችንን ለእርሷ ተገዢዎች ኾነው አገኘን » አሉት ፡ ፡

they said : nay , we found our fathers doing so .
« የለም ! አባቶቻችን እንደዚሁ ሲሠሩ አገኘን » አሉት ፡ ፡

they said : we found our fathers the worshippers thereof .
« አባቶቻችንን ለእርሷ ተገዢዎች ኾነው አገኘን » አሉት ፡ ፡

they replied , " we found our fathers worshipping them " .
« አባቶቻችንን ለእርሷ ተገዢዎች ኾነው አገኘን » አሉት ፡ ፡

and we found not therein more than one house of the muslims .

they replied , " but we found our fathers doing the same . "
« የለም ! አባቶቻችን እንደዚሁ ሲሠሩ አገኘን » አሉት ፡ ፡

they replied : ' no , but we found our fathers doing so '
« የለም ! አባቶቻችን እንደዚሁ ሲሠሩ አገኘን » አሉት ፡ ፡

but we found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves ,
በውስጧም ከሙስሊሞች ከአንድ ቤት ( ቤተሰቦች ) በስተቀር አላገኘንም ፡ ፡

they answered : " no ; but we found our forefathers doing so . "
« የለም ! አባቶቻችን እንደዚሁ ሲሠሩ አገኘን » አሉት ፡ ፡

but we found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves .
በውስጧም ከሙስሊሞች ከአንድ ቤት ( ቤተሰቦች ) በስተቀር አላገኘንም ፡ ፡

and we found no covenant in most of them ; and most of them we found ungodly .
ለብዙዎቻቸውም በቃል ኪዳናቸው መሙላትን አላገኘንም ፡ ፡ አብዛኞቻቸውንም በእርግጥ አመጸኞች ኾነው አገኘናቸው ፡ ፡

and we covenanted with adam before , but he forgot , and we found in him no resolve .
ወደ አደምም ከዚህ በፊት ኪዳንን በእርግጥ አወረድን ፡ ፡ ረሳም ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም ቆራጥነትን አላገኘንለትም ፡ ፡

and we made covenant with adam before , but he forgot , and we found in him no constancy .
ወደ አደምም ከዚህ በፊት ኪዳንን በእርግጥ አወረድን ፡ ፡ ረሳም ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም ቆራጥነትን አላገኘንለትም ፡ ፡

and assuredly we covenanted with adam aforetime , then he forgat , and we found not in him steadiness .
ወደ አደምም ከዚህ በፊት ኪዳንን በእርግጥ አወረድን ፡ ፡ ረሳም ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም ቆራጥነትን አላገኘንለትም ፡ ፡

and that we sought to reach heaven , but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars .
‹ እኛም ሰማይን ( ለመድረስ ) ፈለግን ፡ ፡ ብርቱ ጠባቂዎችንና ችቦዎችንም ተሞልታ አገኘናት ፡ ፡

and we did not find for most of them any covenant ; but indeed , we found most of them defiantly disobedient .
ለብዙዎቻቸውም በቃል ኪዳናቸው መሙላትን አላገኘንም ፡ ፡ አብዛኞቻቸውንም በእርግጥ አመጸኞች ኾነው አገኘናቸው ፡ ፡

and we had already taken a promise from adam before , but he forgot ; and we found not in him determination .
ወደ አደምም ከዚህ በፊት ኪዳንን በእርግጥ አወረድን ፡ ፡ ረሳም ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም ቆራጥነትን አላገኘንለትም ፡ ፡

but they say , “ we found our parents on a course , and we are guided in their footsteps . ”
ከቶውንም « እኛ አባቶቻችንን በሃይማኖት ላይ አገኘናቸው ፡ ፡ እኛም በፈለጎቻቸው ላይ ተመሪዎች ነን » አሉ ፡ ፡
