քանի դեռ Յովհաննէսին չէին բանտարկել:

and he sent, and beheaded john in the prison.
Եւ մարդ ուղարկեց, գլխատել տուեց Յովհաննէսին բանտի մէջ:

there was a man sent from god, whose name was john.
Կար մի մարդ՝ Աստծուց ուղարկուած. նրա անունը՝ Յովհաննէս:

and the disciples of john shewed him of all these things.
Եւ Յովհաննէսին այս բոլորի մասին պատմեցին իր աշակերտները:

added yet this above all, that he shut up john in prison.
այդ բոլորի վրայ աւելացրեց եւ այն, որ Յովհաննէսին բանտարկեց:

again the next day after john stood, and two of his disciples;
Հետեւեալ օրը դարձեալ այնտեղ կանգնած էր Յովհաննէսը. նաեւ՝ իր աշակերտներից երկուսը:

and when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with james and john.
Այդ լսելով՝ տասը առաքեալները սկսեցին բարկանալ Յակոբոսի եւ Յովհաննէսի վրայ:

and his mother answered and said, not so; but he shall be called john.
Բայց նրա մայրը պատասխանեց եւ ասաց. «Ո՛չ, այլ Յովհաննէս պէտք է կոչուի»:

annas and caiaphas being the high priests, the word of god came unto john the son of zacharias in the wilderness.
եւ Աննայի ու Կայիափայի քահանայապետութեան օրով, Աստծու խօսքը լսելի եղաւ Զաքարիայի որդի Յովհաննէսին անապատում:

and as he sat upon the mount of olives over against the temple, peter and james and john and andrew asked him privately,
Եւ մինչ նստած էր նա Ձիթենեաց լերան վրայ, տաճարի դիմաց, Պետրոսն ու Յակոբոսը եւ Յովհաննէսն ու Անդրէասը, առանձին, հարցրին նրան.

and all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified god, being baptized with the baptism of john.
Եւ երբ ամբողջ ժողովուրդը լսեց, նոյնպէս եւ մաքսաւորները, ընդունեցին Աստծու արդարութիւնը՝ մկրտուելով Յովհաննէսի մկրտութեամբ:

and after six days jesus taketh peter, james, and john his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
Եւ վեց օր յետոյ Յիսուս իր հետ վերցրեց Պետրոսին, Յակոբոսին եւ նրա եղբօրը՝ Յովհաննէսին եւ նրանց հանեց, առանձին, մի բարձր լեռ

and as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of john, whether he were the christ, or not;
Ժողովուրդը սպասման մէջ էր, եւ բոլորն իրենց սրտում Յովհաննէսի մասին հարց էին տալիս, թէ՝ միթէ սա՞ է Քրիստոսը:

and after six days jesus taketh with him peter, and james, and john, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
Վեց օր յետոյ Յիսուս իր հետ վերցրեց Պետրոսին, Յակոբոսին եւ Յովհաննէսին ու առանձին նրանց հանեց մի բարձր լերան վրայ եւ նրանց առաջ պայծառակերպուեց:
