Յակոբը մնաց միայնակ: Մի մարդ նրա հետ մարտնչեց մինչեւ առաւօտ:

Աստուած Աբրահամին երեւաց Մամբրէի կաղնու մօտ, երբ սա կէսօրին դեռ նստած էր իր վրանի դռան մօտ:

and as it was in the days of noe, so shall it be also in the days of the son of man.
Բայց նախ նա պէտք է շատ չարչարուի եւ մերժուի այս սերնդից:

«Դրանք՝ այդ վերջինները, մէկ ժամ գործ արեցին, իսկ դու դրանց հաւասար արեցիր մեզ, որ տարանք օրուայ ծանրութիւնը եւ տօթը»:

now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and pharisees came together unto pilate,
Եւ հետեւեալ օրը, որ ուրբաթի յաջորդ օրն է, քահանայապետներն ու փարիսեցիները հաւաքուեցին Պիղատոսի մօտ ու ասացին.

and say, if we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
«Եթէ մենք մեր հայրերի օրօք լինէինք, մարգարէների սպանութեանը մասնակից չէինք լինի»:

եւ չեն ասի, թէ՝ ահաւասիկ այստեղ է կամ այնտեղ, որովհետեւ ահա Աստծու արքայութիւնը ներսում, ձեր մէջ է»:

Աբրահամն այդ վայրի անունը դրեց «Տէրը տեսաւ», եւ մինչեւ այսօր էլ ասում են՝ «Այդ լերան վրայ երեւաց Տէրը»:

and it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
Երրորդ օրն առաւօտեան Սինա լերան վրայ որոտներ լսուեցին, փայլատակումներ ու միգախառն ամպ երեւաց. եւ շեփորի ձայնը ուժգին հնչում էր: Բանակատեղում գտնուող ողջ ժողովուրդը զարհուրեց:

and jacob said unto pharaoh, the days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.
Յակոբը պատասխանեց փարաւոնին. «Պանդխտութեան մէջ անցկացրած տարիներիս թիւը հարիւր երեսուն է: Քիչ ու դժուարին են եղել իմ ապրած տարիները եւ չեն հասել իմ նախնիների պանդխտութեան մէջ անցկացրած տարիներին»:

and esau hated jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and esau said in his heart, the days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will i slay my brother jacob.
Եսաւը պահում էր Յակոբի նկատմամբ ունեցած ոխը այն օրհնութեան պատճառով, որ իր հայրը տուել էր նրան: Եսաւն ասաց իր մտքում. «Թող մօտենան իմ հօր մահուան սգի օրերը, որ սպանեմ Յակոբին՝ իմ եղբօրը»:

and jesus said unto them, can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
Յիսուս նրանց ասաց. «Միթէ կարելի՞ բան է, որ հարսանքաւորները սուգ պահեն, քանի փեսան նրանց հետ է. բայց կը գան օրեր, երբ փեսան նրանցից կը վերցուի, եւ ապա ծոմ կը պահեն:

Յաջորդ օրը, ժողովուրդը, որ մնացել էր ծովի այն կողմը, տեսաւ, որ այնտեղ այլ նաւակ չկայ, բացի միայն մէկից, որի մէջ մտել էին Յիսուսի աշակերտները, իսկ Յիսուս իր աշակերտների հետ նաւակ չէր մտել, այլ միայն իր աշակերտներն էին գնաց»լ:

and moses said unto the people, remember this day, in which ye came out from egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the lord brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
Մովսէսն ասաց ժողովրդին. «Յիշեցէ՛ք այս օրը, երբ դուք դուրս եկաք Եգիպտոսից՝ ստրկութեան այս տնից, որովհետեւ Տէրը ձեզ իր հզօր ձեռքով հանեց այստեղից: Թթխմորով հաց չպիտի ուտէք,
