and thou (muhammad), be not loud-voiced in thy worship nor yet silent therein, but follow a way between.

and if you [believers] invite them to guidance, they will not follow you. it is all the same for you whether you invite them or you are silent.

(remember) how we sent to you (prophet muhammad) a company of jinn who, when they came and listened to the koran, said to each other: 'be silent' then, when it was finished, they returned to their nation and warned them.
