पस जो शख्स उसके सिवा किसी और तरीके से शहवत परस्ती की तमन्ना करे तो ऐसे ही लोग हद से बढ़ जाने वाले हैं

therefore find your enjoyment in renunciation ; do not covet what belongs to others .
अतः आत्मत्याग में ही अपने आनंद को प्राप्त करो , तथा पराए धन के प्रति कोई आसक्ति न रखो ।

but covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew i unto you a more excellent way.
क्या सब अनुवाद करते हैं? तुम बड़ी से बड़ी बरदानों की धुन में रहो! परन्तु मैं तुम्हें और भी सब से उत्तम मार्ग बताता हूं।।

अत : आत्मत्याग में ही अपने आनंद को प्राप्त करो , तथा पराए धन के प्रति कोई आसक्ति न रखो . ”

there are those who covet greedily all day long; but the righteous give and don't withhold.
कोई ऐसा है, जो दिन भर लालसा ही किया करता है, परन्तु धर्मी लगातार दान करता रहता है।

and seeing that he is the creator of his numberless children , it follows that you cannot covet anybody ' s possession .
और यह देखते हूए कि वह अपनी असंख्य सन्तानों का सृष्टि है , यह तो स्पष्ट ही है कि आप किसी की भी सम्पदा को लोभ की दृष्टि से नहीं देख सकते ।

if you covet for their guidance , then verily allah guides not those whom he makes to go astray . and they will have no helpers .
अगर तुमको इन लोगों के राहे रास्त पर जाने का हौका है क्योंकि ख़ुदा तो हरगिज़ उस शख़्श की हिदायत नहीं करेगा जिसको गुमराही में छोड़ देता है और न उनका कोई मददगार है

do not covet what we have granted myriads of people of the pomp and glitter of this world to tempt them . the means your lord has given you are better far and more enduring .
और जो उनमें से कुछ लोगों को दुनिया की इस ज़रा सी ज़िन्दगी की रौनक़ से निहाल कर दिया है ताकि हम उनको उसमें आज़माएँ तुम अपनी नज़रें उधर न बढ़ाओ और तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की रोज़ी कहीं बेहतर और ज्यादा पाएदार है

as if this was not enough the mantra closes with this magnificent thought : do not covet anybody ' s pos - session .
मानो इतना पर्याप्त न हो , इसलिए इस मन्त्र के अन्त में एक भव्य विचार रखा गया हैः किसी की संपदा को लोभ की दृष्टि से न देखो ।

do you covet , that they would believe for you while a party of them used to hear the words of allah and then distort the torah after they had understood it while they were knowing ?
क्या तुम ये लालच रखते हो कि वह तुम्हारा ईमान लाएँगें हालाँकि उनमें का एक गिरोह ऐसा था कि खुदा का कलाम सुनाता था और अच्छी तरह समझने के बाद उलट फेर कर देता था हालाँकि वह खूब जानते थे और जब उन लोगों से मुलाक़ात करते हैं

and they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
वे खेतों का लालच करके उन्हें छली लेते हैं, और घरों का लालच करके उन्हें भी ले लेते हैं; और उसके घराने समेत पुरूष पर, और उसके निज भाग समेत किसी पुरूष पर अन्धेर और अत्याचार कहते हैं।

do not covet what god has favoured some with more than he has some others . men have a share in what they earn , and women have theirs in what they earn . ask god for his favours . surely god has knowledge of everything .
और ख़ुदा ने जो तुममें से एक दूसरे पर तरजीह दी है उसकी हवस न करो मर्दो को अपने किए का हिस्सा है और औरतों को अपने किए का हिस्सा और ये और बात है कि तुम ख़ुदा से उसके फज़ल व करम की ख्वाहिश करो ख़ुदा तो हर चीज़े से वाक़िफ़ है

do not covet that whereby god in bounty has preferred one of you above another . to the men a share from what they have earned , and to the women a share from what they have earned . and ask god of his bounty ; god knows everything .
और ख़ुदा ने जो तुममें से एक दूसरे पर तरजीह दी है उसकी हवस न करो मर्दो को अपने किए का हिस्सा है और औरतों को अपने किए का हिस्सा और ये और बात है कि तुम ख़ुदा से उसके फज़ल व करम की ख्वाहिश करो ख़ुदा तो हर चीज़े से वाक़िफ़ है

"neither shall you covet your neighbor's wife; neither shall you desire your neighbor's house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's."
तू न किसी की पत्नी का लालच करना, और न किसी के घर का लालच करना, न उसके खेत का, न उसके दास का, न उसकी दासी का, न उसके बैल वा गदहे का, न उसकी किसी और वस्तु का लालच करना।।
