for each we struck similitudes, and each we ruined utterly.
하나님은 각자에게 비유로써경고하고 그들 각각을 멸망시켰노라

invent not similitudes for allah: for allah knoweth, and ye know not.

so coin not similitudes for allah. lo! allah knoweth; ye know not.

so do not strike any similitudes to allah. allah knows whereas you do not know.
그러므로 하나님께 어떤 것 도 비유하지 말라 실로 하나님은 너희들이 알지 못하는 것을 알고 계시너라

and certainly we have set forth to men in this quran similitudes of every sort that they may mind.
하나님은 인간을 위하여 이 꾸란속에 모든 종류의 비유를 두 었나니 이로 하여 그들에게 교훈 이 되고자 함이라

behold! how they propound similitudes for thee! they have strayed and cannot find a way.
보라 그들이 그대를 어떻게 비유했느뇨 그리하여 그들은 방황하니 복음의 길을 찾지 못하더라

and those similitudes -- we strike them for the people, but none understands them save those who know.
하나님이 비유를 드사 이것 은 온 백성을 위해서라 지혜 있는자들은 이해하리라

and assuredly we have propounded for mankind in this qur'an all kinds of similitudes, that haply they may be admonished.
하나님은 인간을 위하여 이 꾸란속에 모든 종류의 비유를 두 었나니 이로 하여 그들에게 교훈 이 되고자 함이라

and verily we have displayed for mankind in this qur'an all kind of similitudes, but most of mankind refuse aught save disbelief.
실로 하나님은 이 꾸란에서 인간을 위하여 여러 가지 비유를 들어 설명하였으나 대다수의 사람들은 이를 거역하고 불신하더라

and ye dwell in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves and it had become manifest unto you in what wise we had dealt with them, and we had propounded for you similitudes.
너희는 스스로를 우롱한 무 리의 주거지에서 살고 있을 때 하나님이 그들에게 어떻게 하였으며또 하나님이 너희를 위해 분명한 비유로 설명하셨노라

and you dwelt in the dwelling-places of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how we did with them, and how we struck similitudes for you.
너희는 스스로를 우롱한 무 리의 주거지에서 살고 있을 때 하나님이 그들에게 어떻게 하였으며또 하나님이 너희를 위해 분명한 비유로 설명하셨노라

this because those who reject allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the truth from their lord: thus does allah set forth for men their lessons by similitudes.
그것은 불신자들이 거짓을 따름에 반해 믿는 자들은 주님께 서 내려주신 진리를 따르기 때문 이라 이렇듯 하나님은 비유로써 인간에게 교훈을 주시노라

and these similitudes we put forward for mankind, but none will understand them except those who have knowledge (of allah and his signs, etc.).
하나님이 비유를 드사 이것 은 온 백성을 위해서라 지혜 있는자들은 이해하리라

so put not forward similitudes for allah (as there is nothing similar to him, nor he resembles anything). truly! allah knows and you know not.
그러므로 하나님께 어떤 것 도 비유하지 말라 실로 하나님은 너희들이 알지 못하는 것을 알고 계시너라

had we sent down this qur'an on a mountain, verily, thou wouldst have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of allah. such are the similitudes which we propound to men, that they may reflect.
하나님이 꾸란을 어느 산에계시했다면 그것도 하나님이 두려워 겸손해 하고 분리되는 것을 너희가 보았으리라 하나님은 이것을인간에게 비유하였나니 이로 하여그들이 숙고하도록 함이라

a similitude of the garden which is promised unto those who keep their duty (to allah): underneath it rivers flow; its food is everlasting, and its shade; this is the reward of those who keep their duty, while the reward of disbelievers is the fire.
천국을 비유하사 이는 정의 로운 자에게 약속된 것이라 그 밑 에는 강이 흐르고 일용할 양식이 영원하고 그늘이 있으니 이는 사 악을 멀리하는 자에 대한 보상이 며 불신자들에 대한 대가는 지윽 이라
