when the greatest catastrophe befalls
ފަހެ، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ކަންތައްގަނޑު އަންނަހިނދެވެ. (އެބަހީ: قيامة ދުވަސް އަންނަހިނދެވެ.)

but when the great catastrophe comes,
ފަހެ، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ކަންތައްގަނޑު އަންނަހިނދެވެ. (އެބަހީ: قيامة ދުވަސް އަންނަހިނދެވެ.)

what will show you what is the catastrophe?
އަދި ހިތްތަކަށް ބިރުވެރިކަން ގެނެސްދޭ قيامة ދުވަހަކީ، ކޮންދުވަހެއްކަން ކަލޭގެފާނަށް އަންގައިދިނީ ކޮންއެއްޗެއްތޯއެވެ؟

fear your lord. the catastrophe of the last hour shall be terrible indeed:
އޭ މީސްތަކުންނޭވެ! ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެއަށް ތިޔަބައިމީހުން تقوى ވެރިވާށެވެ! ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، قيامة ވުމުގެ زلزلة އަކީ ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ކަމެކެވެ.

thereupon a shocking catastrophe seized them, and they remained prostrate in their dwellings.
ދެންފަހެ، ބިރުވެރި ބިންހެލުމެއް، އެއުރެންނަށް އައިސްޖެހުނެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެންގެ ގެތަކުގައި ކަކޫމައްޗަށް ތިރިވެ، މަރުވެފައިތިބި ބަޔަކު ކަމުގައި އެއުރެން ވެއްޖައޫއެވެ.

but when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the day of recompense, etc.),
ފަހެ، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ކަންތައްގަނޑު އަންނަހިނދެވެ. (އެބަހީ: قيامة ދުވަސް އަންނަހިނދެވެ.)

the day when the catastrophe occurs and they are summoned to prostrate themselves, they will not be able [to do it].
ކަންތައްތައް ބޮޑުވެދާ ދުވަސް (އެބަހީ: قيامة ދުވަސް) ހަނދުމަކުރާށެވެ! (އެދުވަހުން) އެއުރެންނަށް سجدة ކުރުމަށް ގޮވައިލައްވާނެތެވެ. ފަހެ، އެއުރެންނަކަށް (އެކަމަކަށް) ކުޅަދާނަވެގެނެއްނުވާނެތެވެ.

how then, when a catastrophe befalls them because of what their hands have sent forth, they come to you swearing by allah, "we meant no more than goodwill and conciliation!"
އަދި، އެއުރެންގެ އަތްތަކުން އިސްކުޅަ عمل ތަކެއްގެ ސަބަބުން އެއުރެންނަށް مصيبة އެއް ޖެހިއްޖިއްޔާ ކޮންފަދަތޯއެވެ؟ ދެން، އެއުރެން إحسان ތެރިވުމާއި، އެކުވެރިކުރުން މެނުވީ ތިމަންމެން قصد އެއް ނުކުރަމުއޭ ދަންނަވައި، اللَّه ގަންދީ ހުވާކުރަމުން ކަލޭގެފާނުންގެ އަރިހަށް އާދެއެވެ.

have not the faithful yet realised that had allah wished he would have guided mankind all together? the faithless will continue to be visited by catastrophes because of their doings—or they will land near their habitations—until allah’s promise comes to pass.
قرآن އަކުން ފަރުބަދަތައް ލުހެލެވި، ފުނޑުފުނޑުކޮށްލެވޭނެނަމަ، ނުވަތަ ބިންގަނޑު ކުދިކުދި ކޮށްލެވޭނެނަމަ، ނުވަތަ މަރުވެފައިވާ މީހުންނާ ވާހަކަ ދެއްކޭނެނަމަ (އެ قرآن އަކީ މިއީއެވެ.) އަދި ކިއެއްތަ! ހުރިހާ أمر އެއް ކުރެއްވުންވަނީ، اللَّه އަށެވެ. ފަހެ، اللَّه އިރާދަކުރައްވާނަމަ، އެންމެހާ މީސްތަކުންނަށް ތެދުމަގު ދައްކަވައިފާނެކަން، إيمان ވިމީހުންނަށް ނޭނގޭހެއްޔެވެ؟ كافر ވިމީހުންނަށް އެއުރެންކުރި ކަންތައްތަކުން، آفات ތައްޖެހި، ނުވަތަ އެ آفات ތައް، އެއުރެންގެ ގޮވަތިގެދޮރާ ކައިރިއަށް އައުން ފިލައިނުދެއެވެ. اللَّه ގެ وعد ފުޅު އަތުވެއްޖައުމަށް ދާނދެނެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، اللَّه، وعد އާ خلاف ވެވޮޑިއެއް ނުގަންނަވަތެވެ.
