my father used to cultivate "sigar taz-zinzel" - which in reality - were shrubs - they certainly weren't "ginger" - as i was browsing the net - i saw pictures of argan fruit trees/ shrubs - they looked the same - if indeed they weren't the same - as the "zinzel" shrrubs that my father used to grow - he used to tell us that the fruit/ nut that they produced was valuable for old people - and also - a superstition - that if a "zinzel" shrub died, it meant that the owner of the house was in his last dead throes - i wish someone would give the english transtion of the "zinzel" that i'm describing - my father came from zejtun - so could be someone from that area - or from marsaxlokk - remembers the englis tranlation of the old maltese/zejtun word "zinzel"
