and whatsoever of favours is with you is from allah; then when distress toucheth you, unto him ye cry out.
اور تمہارے پاس جو بھی نعمت ہے وہ سب اللہ ہی کی طرف سے ہے اور اس کے بعد بھی جب تمہیں کوئی تکلیف چھولیتی ہے تو تم اسی سے فریاد کرتے ہو

“he has no partner; this is what i have been commanded, and i am the first muslim.”
اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں اور اسی کا مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے اور میں (جمیع مخلوقات میں) سب سے پہلا مسلمان ہوں،

o my people, what i fear for you is the day of gathering, crying and calling,
اور اے قوم مجھے تمہاری نسبت پکار کے دن (یعنی قیامت) کا خوف ہے

but the man of belief said: "o my people, what i fear for you is the like of what befell the communities (of old).
اس مومن نے کہا اے میری قوم! (کے لوگو) مجھے تو اندیشہ ہے کہ تم پر بھی ویسا ہی روز (بد عذاب) نہ آئے جو اور امتوں پر آیا

they said: your evil augury be with you! is it because ye are reminded (of the truth)? nay, but ye are froward folk!
(پیغمبروں نے) کہا: تمہاری نحوست تمہارے ساتھ ہے، کیا یہ نحوست ہے کہ تمہیں نصیحت کی گئی، بلکہ تم لوگ حد سے گزر جانے والے ہو،

they said, "your evil augury be with you! is it because you are admonished about the truth? surely, you are a people transgressing all bounds!"
ان رسولوں نے کہا کہ تمہاری نحوست تمہارے ساتھ ہی لگی ہوئی ہے، کیا اس کو نحوست سمجھتے ہو کہ تم کو نصیحت کی جائے بلکہ تم حد سے نکل جانے والے لوگ ہو

[musa (moses)] said: "call me not to account for what i forgot, and be not hard upon me for my affair (with you)."
(موسیٰ نے) کہا کہ جو بھول مجھ سے ہوئی اس پر مواخذہ نہ کیجیئے اور میرے معاملے میں مجھ پر مشکل نہ ڈالئے
