you will not attain virtuous conduct until you give of what you cherish. whatever you give away, god is aware of it.
(مومنو!) جب تک تم ان چیزوں میں سے جو تمھیں عزیز ہیں (راہِ خدا میں) صرف نہ کرو گے کبھی نیکی حاصل نہ کر سکو گے اور جو چیز تم صرف کرو گے خدا اس کو جانتا ہے

and whatever you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with allah. but what you give in zakah, desiring the countenance of allah - those are the multipliers.
اور تم جو چیز زیادہ لینے کو دو کہ دینے والے کے مال بڑھیں تو وہ اللہ کے یہاں نہ بڑھے گی اور جو تم خیرات دو اللہ کی رضا چاہتے ہوئے تو انہیں کے دُونے ہیں

it is not bad to give alms in public. however if you give them privately to the poor, it would be better for you and an expiation for some of your sins. god is well-aware of what you do.
اگر اپنے صدقات علانیہ دو، تو یہ بھی اچھا ہے، لیکن اگر چھپا کر حاجت مندوں کو دو، تو یہ تمہارے حق میں زیادہ بہتر ہے تمہاری بہت سی برائیاں اِس طرز عمل سے محو ہو جاتی ہیں اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہوئے اللہ کو بہر حال اُس کی خبر ہے

and what you give in usury, that it may increase upon the people's wealth, increases not with god; but what you give in alms, desiring god's face, those -- they receive recompense manifold.
اور تم جو چیز زیادہ لینے کو دو کہ دینے والے کے مال بڑھیں تو وہ اللہ کے یہاں نہ بڑھے گی اور جو تم خیرات دو اللہ کی رضا چاہتے ہوئے تو انہیں کے دُونے ہیں

if you give alms openly, it is well, and if you hide it and give it to the poor, it is better for you; and this will do away with some of your evil deeds; and allah is aware of what you do.
اگر اپنے صدقات علانیہ دو، تو یہ بھی اچھا ہے، لیکن اگر چھپا کر حاجت مندوں کو دو، تو یہ تمہارے حق میں زیادہ بہتر ہے تمہاری بہت سی برائیاں اِس طرز عمل سے محو ہو جاتی ہیں اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہوئے اللہ کو بہر حال اُس کی خبر ہے

he therefore came before his people in his pomp; said those who desired the worldly life, “if only we were to get what qaroon has been given – he is indeed very fortunate.”
اپنی قوم کے سامنے اپنے ٹھاٹھ سے نکلا جو لوگ دنیا کی زندگی کے طالب تھے کہنے لگے اے کاش ہمارے لیے بھی ویسا ہوتا جیسا کہ قارون کو دیا گیا ہے بے شک وہ بڑے نصیب والا ہے
