when your lord said to the angels, ‘indeed i am going to create a human out of a dry clay [drawn] from an aging mud.
(وہ وقت یاد کرو) جب آپ کے پروردگار نے فرشتوں سے کہا کہ میں سڑے ہوئے گارے کی کھنکھناتی ہوئی مٹی سے ایک بشر پیدا کرنے والا ہوں۔

said he, ‘i will not prostrate before a human whom you have created out of a dry clay [drawn] from an aging mud.’
(ابلیس نے) کہا: میں ہر گز ایسا نہیں (ہو سکتا) کہ بشر کو سجدہ کروں جسے تو نے سِن رسیدہ (اور) سیاہ بودار، بجنے والے گارے سے تخلیق کیا ہے،

and surely, we created you (your father adam) and then gave you shape (the noble shape of a human being), then we told the angels, "prostrate to adam", and they prostrated, except iblis (satan), he refused to be of those who prostrate.
او رہم نے تمہیں پیدا کیا پھر تمہاری صورتیں بنائیں پھر فرشتوں کو حکم دیا کہ آدم کو سجدہ کرو پھر سوائے ابلیس کے سب نے سجدہ کیا وہ سجدہ کرنے والوں میں سے نہ تھا
