(یعنی) اپنے پروردگار کے رسول(ع) کی نافرمانی کی تو اس (اللہ) نے ان کو حد سے بڑھی ہوئی گرفت میں لے لیا۔

but they belied all our signs so we seized them with the seizing of the mighty, powerful.
انہوں نے ہماری تمام نشانیاں جھٹلائیں پس ہم نے انہیں بڑے غالب قوی پکڑنے والے کی طرح پکڑ لیا

such is the seizing of your lord, when he seizes the evildoing villages. his seizing is painful, stern.
اور آپ کا پروردگار جب ظالم بستیوں کو پکڑتا ہے (یعنی ان کے باشندوں کو ان کے ظلم و تعدی کی وجہ سے پکڑتا ہے) تو اس کی پکڑ ایسی ہوتی ہے بے شک اس کی پکڑ بڑی دردناک (اور) سخت ہوتی ہے۔

they cried lies to our signs, all of them, so we seized them with the seizing of one mighty, omnipotent.
انہوں نے ہماری تمام نشانیاں جھٹلائیں پس ہم نے انہیں بڑے غالب قوی پکڑنے والے کی طرح پکڑ لیا

ایک دن آئے گا جب ہم سخت قسم کی گرفت کریں گے کہ ہم یقینا بدلہ لینے والے بھی ہیں

اور اسی طرح آپ کے رب کی پکڑ ہوا کرتی ہے جب وہ بستیوں کی اس حال میں گرفت فرماتا ہے کہ وہ ظالم (بن چکی) ہوتی ہیں۔ بیشک اس کی گرفت دردناک (اور) سخت ہوتی ہے،

who denied all of our signs. so we seized them with the seizing of one [who is] all-mighty, omnipotent.
انہوں نے ہماری تمام نشانیاں جھٹلائیں پس ہم نے انہیں بڑے غالب قوی پکڑنے والے کی طرح پکڑ لیا
