those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression,
البتہ جو اُس کے علاوہ کچھ اور چاہیں وہی زیادتی کرنے والے ہیں

and that our foolish one has been saying about allah an excessive transgression.
اور ہم میں سے بعض بے وقوف ہیں جو الله پر جھوٹی باتیں بنایا کرتے تھے

thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,
(قوم) ثمود نے اپنی سرکشی کے سبب (پیغمبر کو) جھٹلایا

should we withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression?
اب کیا ہم تم سے بیزار ہو کر یہ درس نصیحت تمہارے ہاں بھیجنا چھوڑ دیں صرف اِس لیے کہ تم حد سے گزرے ہوئے لوگ ہو؟

they said, "lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us".
ان دونوں نے کہا اے ہمارے پروردگار! ہمیں اندیشہ ہے کہ وہ ہم پر زیادتی کرے یا سرکشی کرے؟

so allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression].
آخرکار اللہ نے اسے آخرت اور دنیا کے عذاب میں پکڑ لیا

[but] allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly.
الله ان سے ہنسی کرتا ہے اور انہیں مہلت دیتا ہے کہ وہ اپنی گمراہی میں حیران رہیں

surely there came to them narratives (of the ancient nations) that should suffice to deter (them from transgression),
اور بیشک ان کے پاس وہ خبریں آئیں جن میں کافی روک تھی

god mocks them and gives them time to continue blindly in their transgressions.
الله ان سے ہنسی کرتا ہے اور انہیں مہلت دیتا ہے کہ وہ اپنی گمراہی میں حیران رہیں
