and not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their lord but that therefore they have been backsliders.
(அவ்வாறு இருந்தும்,) தங்கள் இறைவனுடைய திருவசனங்களிலிருந்து எந்த வசனம் அவர்களிடம் வந்தபோதிலும் அதை அவர்கள் புறக்கணிக்கவே செய்கின்றனர்.

and not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their lord, but they are ever backsliders therefrom.
அவர்களுடைய இறைவனின் அத்தாட்சிகளில் எந்த ஓர் அத்தாட்சி அவர்களிடம் வந்தாலும் அதனை அவர்கள் புற்ககணிக்காமல் இருப்பதில்லை.

and there cometh not unto them any fresh admonition from the compassionate but they are wont to be there from backsliders.
இன்னும், அர்ரஹ்மானிடமிருந்து புதிய நினைவுறுத்தல் வரும்போதெல்லாம், அதனை அவர்கள் புறக்கணிக்காமலிருப்பதில்லை.

hast thou not observed those vouchsafed a portion of the book called to the book of allah that it may judge between them? then a party of them turn away and they are backsliders
வேதத்தில் ஒரு பாகம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்(களான யூதர்)களை நீர் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அவர்களிடையே (ஏற்பட்ட விவகாரத்தைப் பற்றி) அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதத்தைக் கொண்டு தீர்ப்பளிக்க அவர்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவார் (இதைப்) புறக்கணித்து விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

and had allah known in them any good he would surely have made them hearken; and even if he made them hear, they would surely turn away as backsliders.
அவர்களிடத்தில் ஏதேனும் நன்மை உண்டு என அல்லாஹ் அறிந்திருந்தால், அவன் அவர்களைச் செவியேற்குமாறு செய்திருப்பான்; (அவர்கள் இருக்கும் நிலையில்) அவன் அவர்களைச் செவியேற்கச் செய்தாலும் அவர்கள் புறக்கணித்து மாறியிருப்பார்கள்.

we created not the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain save with truth, and for a term stated. and those who disbelieve are from that whereof they are warned backsliders.
வானங்களையும், பூமியையும் இவையிரண்டிற்கும் இடையே உள்ளவற்றையும் உண்மையையும், ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தவணையையும் கொண்டல்லாமல் நாம் படைக்கவில்லை ஆனால் நிராகரிப்பவர்களோ, தங்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யப்பட்டதைப் புறக்கணிப்பவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.

and (remember) when we took a covenant from the children of israel, (saying): worship none but allah (alone) and be dutiful and good to parents, and to kindred, and to orphans and al-masakin (the poor), [tafsir at-tabari, vol. 10, page 158 (verse 9:60)] and speak good to people [i.e. enjoin righteousness and forbid evil, and say the truth about muhammad peace be upon him], and perform as-salat (iqamat-as-salat), and give zakat. then you slid back, except a few of you, while you are backsliders. (tafsir al-qurtubi, vol. 2, page 392).
இன்னும்(நினைவு கூறுங்கள்;) நாம் (யஃகூப் என்ற) இஸ்ராயீல் மக்களிடத்தில், "அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர வேறு எவரையும்-எதனையும் நீங்கள் வணங்கக்கூடாது, (உங்கள்)பெற்றோருக்கும், உறவினர்களுக்கும், அநாதைகளுக்கும், மிஸ்கீன்(களான ஏழை)களுக்கும் நன்மை செய்யுங்கள்; மனிதர்களிடம் அழகானதைப் பேசுங்கள்; மேலும் தொழுகையை முறையாகக் கடைப்பிடித்து வாருங்கள்; ஜக்காத்தையும் ஒழுங்காகக் கொடுத்து வாருங்கள்" என்று உறுதிமொழியை வாங்கினோம். ஆனால் உங்களில் சிலரைத் தவிர (மற்ற யாவரும் உறுதி மொழியை நிறைவேற்றாமல், அதிலிருந்து) புரண்டுவிட்டீர்கள், இன்னும் நீங்கள் புறக்கணித்தவர்களாகவே இருக்கின்றீர்கள்.
