those who witness no falsehood, and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance);

to him [alone] is the supplication of truth. and those they call upon besides him do not respond to them with a thing, except as one who stretches his hands toward water [from afar, calling it] to reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [thus]. and the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error [i.e. futility].
உண்மையான அழைப்பு (பிரார்த்தனை) அவனுக்கே உரியதாகும்; எவர் அவனை அன்றி (மற்றவர்களை) அழைக்கின்றார்களோ, அவர்கள் இவர்களுக்கு எவ்வித பதிலும் தர மாட்டார்கள்; (அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவர்களைப் பிரார்த்திப் போரின் உதாரணம்;) தண்ணீர் தன் வாய்க்கு(த் தானாக) வந்தடைய வேண்டுமென்று, தன் இருகைகளையும் விரித்து ஏந்திக் கொண்டு இருப்பவனைப்போல் இருக்கிறது (இவன் அல்லாது) அது வாயை அடைந்து விடாது - இன்னும் காஃபிர்களின் பிரார்த்தனை வழிகேட்டில் இருப்பதே தவிர வேறில்லை.
