and how many a village have i respited in its evil doing! then i seized it. to me is the return.
அநியாயங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த எத்தனையோ ஊர்களுக்கு நான் அவகாசம் கொடுத்தேன்; பின்னர் அவற்றைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டேன்; மேலும் (யாவும்) என்னிடமே மீண்டும் வரவேண்டும்.

"lord, my bones have weakened and my head has turned hoary with age, but never, lord, have i been disappointed in my prayer to you:
(அவர்) கூறினார்; "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக என் எலும்புகள் பலஹீனமடைந்து விட்டன என் தலையும் நரையால் (வெண்மையாய்) இலங்குகிறது. என் இறைவனே! (இதுவரையில்) நான் உன்னிடம் செய்த பிரார்த்தனையில் பாக்கியம் இல்லாதவனாகப் போய்விடவில்லை.

"no knowledge have i of the chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves.
"மேலான கூட்டத்தார் தர்க்கித்துக் கொண்டது பற்றி எனக்கு ஒன்றும் தெரியாது.

he said, “my lord, my bones have become feeble, and my hair is aflame with gray, and never, lord, have i been disappointed in my prayer to you.
(அவர்) கூறினார்; "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக என் எலும்புகள் பலஹீனமடைந்து விட்டன என் தலையும் நரையால் (வெண்மையாய்) இலங்குகிறது. என் இறைவனே! (இதுவரையில்) நான் உன்னிடம் செய்த பிரார்த்தனையில் பாக்கியம் இல்லாதவனாகப் போய்விடவில்லை.

he said, "my lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have i been in my supplication to you, my lord, unhappy.
(அவர்) கூறினார்; "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக என் எலும்புகள் பலஹீனமடைந்து விட்டன என் தலையும் நரையால் (வெண்மையாய்) இலங்குகிறது. என் இறைவனே! (இதுவரையில்) நான் உன்னிடம் செய்த பிரார்த்தனையில் பாக்கியம் இல்லாதவனாகப் போய்விடவில்லை.

and if you turn away [from my advice] then no payment have i asked of you. my reward is only from allah, and i have been commanded to be of the muslims."
"ஆனால், நிங்கள் (என் உபதேசத்தைப்) புறக்கணித்து விட்டால், (எனக்கு எவ்வித இழப்புமில்லை.) ஏனெனில் (இதற்காக) நான் உங்களிடம் யாதொரு கூலியும் கேட்கவில்லை; எனக்குரிய கூலி அல்லாஹ்விடமேயன்றி (வேறெவரிடத்தும்) இல்லை. நான் அவனுக்கு (முற்றிலும் வழிப்பட்ட) முஸ்லீம்களில் (ஒருவனாக) இருக்குமாறே நான் ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன்" (என்று கூறினார்0.

he has no associate. thus have i been bidden, and i am the foremost of those who submit themselves (to allah).`
"அவனுக்கு யாதோர் இணையுமில்லை - இதைக் கொண்டே நான் ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன் - (அவனுக்கு) வழிப்பட்டவர்களில் - முஸ்லீம்களில் - நான் முதன்மையானவன் (என்றும் கூறும்).

now, if they turn away (o muhammad) say: allah sufficeth me. there is no allah save him. in him have i put my trust, and he is lord of the tremendous throne.
(நபியே! இதன்) பின்னரும், அவர்கள் (உங்களை விட்டு) விலகி விட்டால் (அவர்களை நோக்கி,) "எனக்கு அல்லாஹ்வே போதுமானவன். (வழிபடுவதற்குரிய) நாயன் அவனையன்றி (வேறுயாரும்) இல்லை அவன் மீதே நான் பரிபூரண நம்பிக்கை கொண்டுள்ளேன் - அவன் தான் மகத்தான அரியாசனத்தின் (அர்ஷின்) அதிபதி" என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக!

then allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. he said, "o woe to me! have i failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?" and he became of the regretful.
பின்னர் தம் சதோதரரின் பிரேதத்தை (அடக்குவதற்காக) எவ்வாறு மறைக்க வேண்டுமென்பதை அவர்க்கு அறிவிப்பதற்காக அல்லாஹ் ஒரு காகத்தை அனுப்பினான்;. அது பூமியை தோண்டிற்று (இதைப் பார்த்த) அவர் "அந்தோ! நான் இந்த காகத்தைப் போல் கூட இல்லாதாகி விட்டேனே! அப்படியிருந்திருந்தால் என் சகோதரனுடைய பிரேதத்தை நான் மறைத்திருப்பேனே!" என்று கூறி, கை சேதப்படக் கூடியவராகி விட்டார்.

"but if you turn away [from accepting my doctrine of islamic monotheism, i.e. to worship none but allah], then no reward have i asked of you, my reward is only from allah, and i have been commanded to be one of the muslims (those who submit to allah's will)."
