so declare to them what we have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters.
ஆதலால் உமக்குக் கட்டளையிடப் பட்டிருப்பதை வெளிப்படையாக அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பீராக இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களை புறக்கணித்துவிடுவீராக!

so proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters.
ஆதலால் உமக்குக் கட்டளையிடப் பட்டிருப்பதை வெளிப்படையாக அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பீராக இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களை புறக்கணித்துவிடுவீராக!

immunity is granted those idolaters by god and his apostle with whom you have a treaty.
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

an acquittal from allah and his messenger to the idolaters with whom you have made agreements;
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

turning to him. and fear you him, and perform the prayer, and be not of the idolaters,
நீங்கள் அவன் பக்கமே திரும்பியவர்களாக இருங்கள்; அவனிடம் பயபக்தியுடன் நடந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்; தொழுகையையும் நிலை நிறுத்துங்கள்; இன்னும் இணைவைப்போரில் நீங்களும் ஆகி விடாதீர்கள்.

abraham was certainly a model of faith, obedient to god and upright, and not one of idolaters,
நிச்சயமாக இப்றாஹீம் ஒரு வழிகாட்டியாகவும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அடிபணிந்தவராகவும் (நேரான பாதையில்) சார்ந்தவராகவும் இருந்தார் மேலும், அவர் முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணை வைப்போரில்) ஒருவராக இருக்கவில்லை.

"set thy face to the religion, a man of pure faith, and be thou not of the idolaters;
நேர்மையான மார்க்கத்தின்பாலே உம் முகத்தை நிலைபெறச் செய்ய வேண்டும்; முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் ஒருவராக நீர் ஆகிவிடவேண்டாம்.

had he willed they would not have been idolaters. we have not appointed you their guardian, nor are you their pleader.
அல்லாஹ் நாடியிருந்தால் அவர்கள் இணை வைத்திருக்கவே மாட்டார்கள்; நாம் உம்மை அவர்கள் மீது காப்பாளராக ஏற்படுத்தவில்லை - இன்னும் நீர் அவர்கள் (காரியங்களை நிர்வகிக்கும்) பொறுப்பாளரும் அல்லர்.

i have turned my face to him who has created the heavens and the earth, uprightly, and i am not among the idolaters'
"வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் பக்கமே நான் உறுதியாக என் முகத்தைத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டேன்; நான் முஷ்ரிக்கானவனாக - (இணைவைப் போரில் ஒருவனாக) இருக்க மாட்டேன்" (என்று கூறினார்).

(this is a declaration of) immunity by allah and his apostle towards those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement.
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

abraham was (equal to) a nation, obedient to allah, of pure faith and was not among the idolaters,
நிச்சயமாக இப்றாஹீம் ஒரு வழிகாட்டியாகவும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அடிபணிந்தவராகவும் (நேரான பாதையில்) சார்ந்தவராகவும் இருந்தார் மேலும், அவர் முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணை வைப்போரில்) ஒருவராக இருக்கவில்லை.

i have turned my face to him who originated the heavens and the earth, a man of pure faith; i am not of the idolaters.'
"வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவன் பக்கமே நான் உறுதியாக என் முகத்தைத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டேன்; நான் முஷ்ரிக்கானவனாக - (இணைவைப் போரில் ஒருவனாக) இருக்க மாட்டேன்" (என்று கூறினார்).

do they have gods besides us to defend them? neither can they help themselves, nor can they shield [the idolaters] from us.
அல்லது, (நம்முடைய வேதனையிலிருந்து) நம்மையன்றி அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றும் தெய்வங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு இருக்கின்றனவா? அவர்கள் தமக்குத்தாமே உதவிசெய்ய சக்தியற்றவர்கள். மேலும் அவர்கள் நம்மிடமிருந்து காப்பாற்றப்படுபவர்களும் அல்லர்.

except those idolaters who have fully honored their treaties with you and aided none against you. with these fulfill your covenant till their term. surely, allah loves the righteous.
ஆனால், நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்து கொண்ட இந்த முஷ்ரிக்குகளில், எதையும் குறைத்து விடாமலும், உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக எவருக்கும் உதவி செய்யாமலும் இருக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களைத் தவிர அவர்களுக்கு அவர்களின் உடன்படிக்கையை அவர்களின் காலக் கெடுவரையில் பூரணமாக நிறைவேற்றுங்கள் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் பயபக்தியுடையோரை நேசிக்கின்றான்.

and afterward we inspired thee (muhammad, saying): follow the religion of abraham, as one by nature upright. he was not of the idolaters.
(நபியே!) பின்னர் "நேர்மையாளரான இப்றாஹீமின் சன்மார்க்கத்தை நீர் பின்பற்ற வேண்டும்" என்று நாம் உமக்கு வஹீ அறிவித்தோம்; அவர் முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணை வைப்போரில்) ஒருவராக இருந்ததில்லை.

abraham was not a jew, nor yet a christian; but he was an upright man who had surrendered (to allah), and he was not of the idolaters.
இப்ராஹீம் யூதராகவோ, அல்லது கிறிஸ்தவராகவோ இருக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் அவர் (அல்லாஹ்விடம்) முற்றிலும் (சரணடைந்த) நேர்மையான முஸ்லிமாக இருந்தார்;. அவர் முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைப்போரில்) ஒருவராக இருக்கவில்லை.

or lest you say, 'our fathers were idolaters aforetime, and we were seed after them. what, wilt thou then destroy us for the deeds of the vain-doers?'
அல்லது, "இணைவைத்தவர்கள் எல்லாம் எங்களுக்கு முன் இருந்த எங்கள் மூதாதையர்களே நாங்களோ அவர்களுக்குப் பின் வந்த (அவர்களுடைய) சந்ததிகள் - அந்த வழிகெட்டோரின் செயலுக்காக நீ எங்களை அழித்து விடலாமா?" என்று கூறாதிருக்கவுமே! (இதனை நினைவூட்டுகிறோம் என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறுவீராக.)

(muhammad), say, "god has spoken the truth. follow the upright tradition of abraham who was not an idolater."
(நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்; "அல்லாஹ் (இவை பற்றி) உண்மையையே கூறுகிறான்; ஆகவே (முஃமின்களே!) நேர்வழி சென்ற இப்ராஹீமின் மார்க்கத்தையே பின்பற்றுங்கள்;. அவர் முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் ஒருவராக இருக்கவில்லை."
