verily this my brother hath nine and ninety ewes while i have one ewe; and he saith: entrust it to me, and he hath prevailed upon me in speech.
(அவர்களில் ஒருவர் கூறினார்;) "நிச்சயமாக இவர் என்னுடைய சகோதரர்; இவரிடம் தொண்ணூற்றொன்பது ஆடுகள் இருக்கின்றன் ஆனால் என்னிடம் ஒரே ஓர் ஆடுதான் இருக்கிறது அவர் அதனையும் தனக்குக் கொடுத்துவிட வேண்டுமெனச் சொல்லி, வாதத்தில் என்னை மிகைத்து விட்டார்."

எனவே, கிழக்குத் திசைகள், மேற்குத் திசைகள் ஆகியவற்றின் இறைவனாகிய (நம்) மீது சத்தியமாக, நிச்சயமாக நாம் (விரும்பியவாறு செய்ய) ஆற்றலுடையோம்.

o prophet, urge the faithful to fight. if there are twenty among you with determination they will vanquish two hundred; and if there are a hundred then they will vanquish a thousand unbelievers, for they are people devoid of understanding.
நபியே! நீர் முஃமின்களை போருக்கு ஆர்வ மூட்டுவீராக உங்களில் பொறுமையுடையவர்கள் இருபது பேர் இருந்தால், இருநூறு பேர்களை வெற்றி கொள்வார்கள். இன்னும் உங்களில் நூறு பேர் இருந்தால் அவர்கள் காஃபிர்களில் ஆயிரம் பேரை வெற்றி கொள்வார்கள்; ஏனெனில் (முஃமின்களை எதிர்ப்போர்) நிச்சயமாக அறிவில்லாத மக்களாக இருப்பது தான் (காரணம்).
