அதற்கு மூஸர் "உங்களிடம் சத்தியமே வந்த போது, அதைப்பற்றியோ நீங்கள் இவ்வாறு கூறுகிறீர்கள்? இதுவா சூனியம்? சூனியக்காரர்கள் வெற்றி பெறவே மாட்டார்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.

he said: 'if you follow me, you must not question me about anything till i myself speak to you concerning it'
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நீர் என்னைப்பின் தொடர்வதாயின், எந்த ஒரு விஷயத்தைப் பற்றியும் - நானாகவே அதைப்பற்றி உமக்கு அறிவிக்கும் வரை - நீர் என்னிடம் கேட்கக் கூடாது" என்று சொன்னார்.

and to the noble messengers whom we have mentioned to you before, and to the noble messengers we have not mentioned to you; and allah really did speak to moosa.
(இவர்களைப் போன்றே வேறு) தூதர்கள் சிலரையும் (நாம் அனுப்பி) அவர்களுடைய சரித்திரங்களையும் உமக்கு நாம் முன்னர் கூறியுள்ளோம்;. இன்னும் (வேறு) தூதர்கள் (பலரையும் நாம் அனுப்பினோம்;. ஆனால்) அவர்களின் சரித்திரங்களை உமக்குக் கூறவில்லை. இன்னும் மூஸாவுடன் அல்லாஹ் பேசியும் இருக்கின்றான்.

and why was it not that, when you heard it, you would have said, “it does not befit us to speak regarding this; purity is to you, o allah – this is a great accusation.”
இன்னும் இதை நீங்கள் செவியேற்ற போது, "இதைப் பற்றி நாம் பேசுவது நமக்கு(த் தகுதி) இல்லை (நாயனே!) நீயே தூயவன்; இது பெரும் பழியாகும்" என்று நீங்கள் கூறியிருக்கலாகாதா?

zechariah said: "lord, grant me a sign." said he: "your sign is that you shall not be able to speak to people for three nights, though you will be otherwise sound."
(அதற்கவர்) "என் இறைவனே! நீ எனக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை (இதற்காக) ஏற்படுத்துவாயாக!" என்று வேண்டினார்; "நீர் சவுக்கியத்துடன் இருக்கும் நிலையிலேயே மூன்று இரவு(பகல்)கள் நீர் மக்களுடன் பேச முடியாமலிருப்பீர்; (அதுவே) உமக்கு அத்தாட்சியாகும்" என்று கூறினான்.

and when they meet those who believe, they say 'we believe'; and when they go privily one to another, they say, 'do you speak to them of what god has revealed to you, that they may thereby dispute with you before your lord? have you no understanding?'
மேலும் அவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டவர்களை சந்திக்கும்போது, "நாங்களும் ஈமான் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம்" என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களுள் சிலர் (அவர்களுள்) சிலருடன் தனித்திடும்போது, "உங்கள் இறைவன் முன் உங்களுக்கு எதிராக அவர்கள் வாதாடு வதற்காக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்துத் தந்த (தவ்ராத்)தை அவர்களுக்கு எடுத்துச் சொல்கிறீர்களா, (இதை) நீங்கள் உணரமாட்டீர்களா? என்று(யூதர்கள் சிலர்) கூறுகின்றனர்.

moses said, 'what, do you say this to the truth, when it has come to you? is this a sorcery? but sorcerers do not prosper.'
அதற்கு மூஸர் "உங்களிடம் சத்தியமே வந்த போது, அதைப்பற்றியோ நீங்கள் இவ்வாறு கூறுகிறீர்கள்? இதுவா சூனியம்? சூனியக்காரர்கள் வெற்றி பெறவே மாட்டார்கள்" என்று கூறினார்.
