and what (reason) have we that we should not believe in allah and in the truth that has come to us, while we earnestly desire that our lord should cause us to enter with the good people?
மேலும், "அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும், எங்களிடம் வந்துள்ள சத்திய (வேத)த்தின் மீதும், நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாதிருக்க எங்களுக்கு என்ன (தடை) இருக்கின்றது? எங்களுடைய இறைவன் எங்ளை நல்லோர் கூட்டத்துடன் சேர்த்து வைக்கவே நாங்கள் ஆசை வைக்கிறோம்" (என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுவர்).

say to them: "o people of the book, what reason have you for disliking us other than that we believe in god and what has been sent down to us, and was sent down before, and because most of you are disobedient?"
"வேதம் உடையவர்களே! அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும், எங்கள் மீது இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தின்மீதும், எங்களுக்கு முன்னர் இறக்கப்பட்டவை மீதும் நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டுள்ளோம் என்பதைத் தவிர, வேறு எதற்காகவும் நீங்கள் எங்களைப் பழிக்கவில்லை. நிச்சயமாக, உங்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் ஃபாஸிக்கு (பாவி)களாக இருக்கின்றீர்கள்" என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

and what reason have you that you should not eat of that on which allah's name has been mentioned, and he has already made plain to you what he has forbidden to you-- excepting what you are compelled to; and most surely many would lead (people) astray by their low desires out of ignorance; surely your lord-- he best knows those who exceed the limits.
அல்லாஹ்வின் பெயர் கூறி (உங்களுக்கு அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டவற்றில்) அறுக்கப்பட்டதை நீங்கள் சாப்பிடாமலிருக்க என்ன (தடை) இருக்கிறது? நீங்கள் நிர்ப்பந்திக்கப்பட்டாலன்றி சாப்பிட உங்களுக்கு விலக்கப்பட்டவை எவை என்பதை அல்லாஹ் விவரித்துக் கூறியுள்ளான் - ஆனால் பெரும்பாலோர், அறியாமையின் காரணமாகத் தங்களுடைய மன இச்சைகளின் பிரகாரம் (மனிதர்களை) வழி கெடுக்கிறார்கள்; வரம்பு மீறிச்செல்பவர்களை நிச்சயமாக உம் இறைவன் நன்கு அறிகிறான்.
