เป็นไฉนพระองค์ทรงลืมพวกข้าพระองค์เสียเป็นนิตย์ เป็นไฉนได้ทรงทอดทิ้งพวกข้าพระองค์เสียนานดังนี

and thou dost see the people enter allah's religion in crowds,
และเจ้าได้เห็นประชาชนเข้าในศาสนาของอัลลอฮฺเป็นหมู่ ๆ

yet no faith will the greater part of mankind have, however ardently thou dost desire it.
และส่วนใหญ่ของมนุษย์จะไม่ศรัทธาต่อเจ้า ถึงแม้เจ้าปรารถนาอย่างยิ่งก็ตาม

or dost thou reflect that the companions of the cave and of the inscription were wonders among our sign?
เจ้าคิดหรือว่า ชาวถ้ำและแผ่นจารึก เป็นส่วนหนึ่งจากสัญญาณมหัศจรรย์ของเรากระนั้นหรือ ?

and no reward dost thou ask of them for this: it is no less than a message for all creatures.

dost thou not consider how thy lord dealt with (the tribe of) a'ad,
เจ้าไม่เห็นดอกหรือว่า พระเจ้าของเจ้ากระทำต่อพวกอ๊าดอย่างไร ?

and even if thou hast to turn away from them in pursuit of the mercy from thy lord which thou dost expect, yet speak to them a word of easy kindness.
และหากเจ้าผินหลังให้พวกเขา เพื่อแสวงหาความเมตตาจากพระเจ้าของเจ้า โดยหวังมันอยู่ ดังนั้น จงกล่าวแก่พวกเขาด้วยถ้อยคำที่นิ่มนวล

and how many a generation we destroyed before them! dost thou perceive so much as one of them, or hear of them a whisper?
และกี่มากน้อยแล้วจากประชาชาติในอดีต เราได้ทำลายพวกเขา เจ้าได้เห็นผู้ใดในหมู่พวกเขาหรือได้ยินเสียงกระซิบของพวกเขาบ้างไหม ?

และเจ้าอย่าวิงวอนสิ่งใดอื่นจากอัลลอฮ์ที่ไม่อำนวยประโยชน์แก่เจ้า และไม่ให้โทษแก่เจ้า หากเจ้ากระทำเช่นนั้น แท้จริงเจ้าจะอยู่ในหมู่ผู้อธรรม
