“both of these industries are undergoing restructuring, but, in view of the proximity of cap de peñas and our location halfway between avilés and gijón, we are extremely well placed to develop tourism and leisure,” said victor cuervo, head of the local authority’s training and employment service. e programme involves the creation of tourism businesses (with equal funds), increasing the amount of rural accommodation available (with leader+), development of a sailing port (with the erdf and interreg) and professional training (eur 800000 thanks to co-financing by the esf) in order to meet the demand for tourism. “it doesn’t really involve a radical change,” said constantino roces, director of the farm-produce training centre in luanco.
