sa'an nan idan al'marin ya ƙullu, to, dã sun yi wa allah gaskiya, lalle dã ya kasance mafifi ci a gare su.

had the people of the book accepted the faith (islam), it would certainly have been better for them.

and if they wait patiently until you come out to them, it would certainly be better for them, and allah is forgiving, merciful.
