އެއުރެން އެއުރެންނާ ކުރިމަތިލައި އައިސް ބުނެފޫއެވެ. ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ގެއްލިގެންތިޔަ އުޅެނީ ކޮންއެއްޗެއް ހެއްޔެވެ؟

when they found our torment approaching them they started to run away from the town.
ފަހެ، އެއުރެންނަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ عذاب ގާތްވެއްޖެކަން إحساس ވީހިނދު، އެހާރުން އެއުރެން އެތަނުން ފިލާންދުވެތެވެ.

by thy life (o muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death.
ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ حياة ޕުޅު ގަންދެއްވައި وحى ކުރައްވަމެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންވަނީ، އެއުރެންގެ މަސްތުގެތެރޭގައި، حيران ވެ، ދެފުށުއެޅޭ حال ގައެވެ.

they will call them but will receive no answer. they will see the torment approaching and wish that they had sought guidance.
އަދި (ދެރަކޮށްލެއްވުމުގެގޮތުން) އަންގަވާ ހުށްޓެވެ. ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ شريك ންނަށް ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ގޮވާށެވެ! ފަހެ، އެއުރެން އެ شريك ންނަށް ގޮވާނެތެވެ. އެ شريك ން އެއުރެންނަކަށް އިޖާބައެއް ނުދޭނެތެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެންނަށް عذاب ފެންނަ ހުށްޓެވެ. އެހިނދު، އެއުރެންނަށް ތެދުމަގު ލިބުނުނަމަ، ކިހާރަނގަޅުހޭ އެއުރެން ހިތަށް އަރާނެތެވެ.

or it is like that of a rain storm with darkness, thunder, and lightning approaching. they cover their ears for fear of thunder and death.
ނުވަތަ އެއުރެންގެ މިސާލަކީ، އެ ވިލާގަނޑެއްގައި އަނދިރިތަކަކާއި ގުގުރުމާއި ވިދުން (އެކުލެވިފައި) ވާގޮތުގައި އުޑުމަތީގައިވާ ވާރޭވިލާގަނޑެއްގެ މިސާލެވެ. ހޮނުގެ ސަބަބުން މަރުވެދާނެކަމަށް ބިރުން، އެއުރެންގެ ކަންފަތްތަކުގައި އެއުރެންގެ އިނގިލިތައް އަޅަތެވެ. اللَّه އީ، އެ كافر ންގެ ހުރިހައި ކަމެއް ފުރިހަމައަށް ދެނެވޮޑިގެންވާ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

the day is approaching when every soul shall find itself confronted with whatever good it has done and whatever evil it has wrought. it will then wish there is a wide space between it and the day!
ކޮންމެ نفس އެއްމެ، ހެޔޮކަމުގެ ތެރެއިން، އެ نفس އެއް ކުޅަކަމަކާއި، ނުބައިކަމުގެ ތެރެއިން، އެ نفس އެއް ކުޅަކަމެއް حاضر ކުރައްވާފައިވާތީ ދެކޭނޭ ދުވަސް (ހަނދުމަކުރާށެވެ! އެދުވަހުން) އެ نفس އެއް ކުޅަ ނުބައިކަމަކާއި، އެ نفس އަކާ ދެމެދު އެތަކެއް ދުރުމިނެއް ހުންނާނެނަމައޭ ހީކޮށް އެކަމަށް އެދޭނެތެވެ. اللَّه، އެކަލާނގެ عقاب އަށް ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ބިރުވެރިތިކުރައްވަތެވެ. اللَّه އީ، އަޅުތަކުންނަށް ނުހަނު އޯގާވަންތަ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

warn them of the approaching day, when the hearts will be at the throats, choking with suppressed agony, the wrongdoers will have no sympathizer, nor any intercessor who might be heard.
ކައިރިވަމުންއަންނަ ދުވަހާމެދު، ކަލޭގެފާނު އެއުރެންނަށް إنذار ކުރައްވާށެވެ! މޮޅިޔާއި، ހިތާމައިން ފުރިގެންވާ حال، ހިތްތައް ކަރުތެރެޔަށް އަރައިގެން އަންނަހިނދެވެ. (އެދުވަހުން) އަނިޔާވެރިންނަކަށް رحمة ތެރިޔަކު ނުވަތަ ކިޔަމަންގަނެވޭ شفاعة ތެރިޔަކުވެސް ނުވެއެވެ.

but when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "this is that for which you used to call."
ފަހެ، އެއުރެންނަށް އެ وعد، ކައިރިން ފެނިއްޖެހިނދު، كافر ވިމީހުންގެ މޫނުތަކަށް ހިތާމަވެރިކަން ލިބިގެންދާނެތެވެ. އަދި އަންގަވާނެތެވެ. މިއީ ތިޔަބައިމީހުން އެދިގޮވާކަމުގައިވި ކަންތަކެވެ.

(muhammad), warn them of the approaching day when because of hardship and frustration their hearts will almost reach up to their throats. the unjust will have no friends nor any intercessor who will be heard.
ކައިރިވަމުންއަންނަ ދުވަހާމެދު، ކަލޭގެފާނު އެއުރެންނަށް إنذار ކުރައްވާށެވެ! މޮޅިޔާއި، ހިތާމައިން ފުރިގެންވާ حال، ހިތްތައް ކަރުތެރެޔަށް އަރައިގެން އަންނަހިނދެވެ. (އެދުވަހުން) އަނިޔާވެރިންނަކަށް رحمة ތެރިޔަކު ނުވަތަ ކިޔަމަންގަނެވޭ شفاعة ތެރިޔަކުވެސް ނުވެއެވެ.

[o prophet] forewarn them of the approaching day, when hearts will leap up to the throats and choke them; when the wrongdoers will have no friend, nor any intercessor who will be listened to,
ކައިރިވަމުންއަންނަ ދުވަހާމެދު، ކަލޭގެފާނު އެއުރެންނަށް إنذار ކުރައްވާށެވެ! މޮޅިޔާއި، ހިތާމައިން ފުރިގެންވާ حال، ހިތްތައް ކަރުތެރެޔަށް އަރައިގެން އަންނަހިނދެވެ. (އެދުވަހުން) އަނިޔާވެރިންނަކަށް رحمة ތެރިޔަކު ނުވަތަ ކިޔަމަންގަނެވޭ شفاعة ތެރިޔަކުވެސް ނުވެއެވެ.
