(musa) said: o haroun! what prevented you, when you saw them going astray,

އެއުރެން ދެންނެވޫއެވެ. موسى ގެފާނު ތިމަންމެންގެ ގާތަށް އެނބުރި ވަޑައިގެންފުމަށް ދާނދެން، ތިމަންމެން އެޔަށް އަޅުކަންކުރުންމަތީ ދެމިތިބޭނޫއެވެ.

they took their oaths as a screen, and prevented others from god’s path. they will have a shameful punishment.
އެއުރެންގެ ހުވާތަކަކީ އައްޑަނަތަކެއްކަމުގައި އެއުރެން ހެދޫއެވެ. ފަހެ، އެއުރެން اللَّه ގެ މަގުން (މީސްތަކުން) އެއްކިބާކުރޫއެވެ. ފަހެ، އެއުރެންނަށް އިހާނަތްތެރިކަންދެނިވި عذاب ހުށްޓެވެ.

and what prevented the people from believing when guidance came to them except that they said, "has allah sent a human messenger?"
މީސްތަކުންގެ ގާތަށް ތެދުމަގު އައިހިނދު، اللَّه، رسول އަކު ކަމުގައި آدم ގެދަރިޔަކު ފޮނުއްވީހޭ، އެއުރެން ބުނާ ބުނުން މެނުވީ، އެއުރެން إيمان ވުން މަނައެއް ނުކުރެތެވެ.

and naught hath prevented men from believing when the guidance came unto them except that they said: hath god sent a human being as apostle?
މީސްތަކުންގެ ގާތަށް ތެދުމަގު އައިހިނދު، اللَّه، رسول އަކު ކަމުގައި آدم ގެދަރިޔަކު ފޮނުއްވީހޭ، އެއުރެން ބުނާ ބުނުން މެނުވީ، އެއުރެން إيمان ވުން މަނައެއް ނުކުރެތެވެ.

and naught prevented men from believing when the guidance came to them, but that they said, 'has god sent forth a mortal as messenger?'
މީސްތަކުންގެ ގާތަށް ތެދުމަގު އައިހިނދު، اللَّه، رسول އަކު ކަމުގައި آدم ގެދަރިޔަކު ފޮނުއްވީހޭ، އެއުރެން ބުނާ ބުނުން މެނުވީ، އެއުރެން إيمان ވުން މަނައެއް ނުކުރެތެވެ.

how the people of ad and thamud were destroyed is evident to you from their homes. satan made their deeds seem attractive to them and prevented them from the right path, even though they had visions.
އަދި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ عاد ބާގައިމީހުންނާއި، ثمود ބާގައިމީހުން ހަލާކުކުރެއްވީމެވެ. އެއުރެންގެ ގެތަކުން ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށްޓަކައި މިކަމުގެ ހެކިތައް ފާޅުވެ އެނގިގެންވެތެވެ. އަދި شيطان އާ، އެއުރެންނަށް އެއުރެންގެ عمل ތައް ޒީނަތްތެރިކޮށް ދެއްކިއެވެ. އަދި ތެދުމަގުން އެއުރެން ދުރުކުރިއެވެ. ބުއްދިވެރިންކަމުގައި އެއުރެންވިއަސް މެއެވެ. and naught prevented mankind from believing when the guidance came unto them save that they said: hath allah sent a mortal as (his) messenger?
މީސްތަކުންގެ ގާތަށް ތެދުމަގު އައިހިނދު، اللَّه، رسول އަކު ކަމުގައި آدم ގެދަރިޔަކު ފޮނުއްވީހޭ، އެއުރެން ބުނާ ބުނުން މެނުވީ، އެއުރެން إيمان ވުން މަނައެއް ނުކުރެތެވެ.

nothing has prevented us from sending signs, except the fact that previous peoples denied them. we gave the people of thamud the she-camel as a clear sign, yet they mistreated her.
އިހުއުޅުނު މީހުން معجزة ތައް ދޮގުކުޅަކަން މެނުވީ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ معجزة ތައް ފޮނުއްވުން މަނާކުރާކަމެއް ނެތެވެ. އަދި ފާޅުވެގެންވާ معجزة އެއްގެ ގޮތުގައި، ثمود ބާގައި މީހުންނަށް جمل ދެއްވީމެވެ. ދެން އެއުރެން އެއާމެދުގައި އަނިޔާވެރިވެގަތޫއެވެ. އަދި إنذار އެއް ކަމުގައި މެނުވީ ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ معجزة ތައް ނުފޮނުއްވަމެވެ.

allah said: 'what prevented you from prostrating, when i commanded you to do so?' he said: 'i am better than he.
އެކަލާނގެ وحى ކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ކަލެޔަށް أمر ކުރެއްވިހިނދު سجدة ކުރުން ކަލެޔަށް މަނާކުރީ ކޮންކަމެއް ހެއްޔެވެ؟ އެކަލޭގެ ދެންނެވިއެވެ. އެކަލޭގެފާނަށްވުރެ ތިމަން މާމޮޅެވެ. އިބަރަސްކަލާނގެ ތިމަން ހެއްދެވީ އަލިފާނުންނެވެ. އަދި އިބަރަސްކަލާނގެ އެކަލޭގެފާނު ހެއްދެވީ މަށީންނެވެ.
