Чаро ҳангоме ки он бӯҳтонро шунидед, мардону занони мӯъмин ба худ гумони нек набурданд ва нагуфтанд, ки ин тӯҳмате ошкор аст?

why did not those who they took, other than allah, as mediating gods help them! indeed, they went astray from them!
Пас чаро он худоёне, ки ғайри Оллоҳ барои наздикӣ ба худоӣ гирифта буданд, ёрияшон накарданд, балки аз назарашон гум шуданд?

so why did not those [fake deities] help them whom they had taken as gods besides allah, as a means of nearness [to him]?
Пас чаро он худоёне, ки ғайри Оллоҳ барои наздикӣ ба худоӣ гирифта буданд, ёрияшон накарданд, балки аз назарашон гум шуданд?

it was not necessary for the believers to go forth all together (to receive religious instruction), but why did not a party of them go forth that they may grow in religious understanding, and that they may warn their people when they return to them, so that they may avoid (erroneous attitudes)?
Ва натавонанд мӯъминон, ки ҳамагӣ ба сафар раванд. Чаро аз ҳар гурӯҳе дастае ба сафар нараванд, то дониши дини хешро биёмузанд ва чун бозгаштанд, мардуми худро хушдор диҳанд, бошад, ки аз зишткорӣ ҳазар кунанд?
