and who can be better in religion than he who submitteth his countenance unto allah, and sincere, and followeth the faith of ibrahim, the upright and allah took ibrahim for a friend.
மேலும், எவர் நன்மை செய்யக்கூடிய நிலையில் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டு, இப்றாஹீமுடைய தூய மார்க்கத்தையும் பின் பற்றுகிறாரோ, அவரைவிட அழகிய மார்க்கத்தை உடையவர் யார்? இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் இப்றாஹீமை தன் மெய்யன்பராக எடுத்துக் கொண்டான்.

and when they board a ship, they supplicate allah, sincere to him in religion. but when he delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with him
மேலும் அவர்கள் மரக்கலங்களில் ஏறிக்கொண்டால், அந்தரங்க சுத்தியுடன் சன்மார்க்கத்தில் வழிப்படடவர்களாக அல்லாஹ்வைப் பிரார்த்திக்கின்றனர்; ஆனால், அவன் அவர்களை (பத்திரமாகக்) கரைக்கு கொண்டு வந்து விடுங்கால், அவர்கள் (அவனுக்கே) இணைவைக்கின்றனர்.

and who is better in religion than he who submits himself wholly to god, and is a doer of good, and follows the faith of abraham the monotheist? god has chosen abraham for a friend.
மேலும், எவர் நன்மை செய்யக்கூடிய நிலையில் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டு, இப்றாஹீமுடைய தூய மார்க்கத்தையும் பின் பற்றுகிறாரோ, அவரைவிட அழகிய மார்க்கத்தை உடையவர் யார்? இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் இப்றாஹீமை தன் மெய்யன்பராக எடுத்துக் கொண்டான்.

and who is better in religion than one who submits himself to allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of abraham, inclining toward truth? and allah took abraham as an intimate friend.
மேலும், எவர் நன்மை செய்யக்கூடிய நிலையில் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டு, இப்றாஹீமுடைய தூய மார்க்கத்தையும் பின் பற்றுகிறாரோ, அவரைவிட அழகிய மார்க்கத்தை உடையவர் யார்? இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் இப்றாஹீமை தன் மெய்யன்பராக எடுத்துக் கொண்டான்.

but if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion. we detail our revelations for a people who have knowledge.
ஆயினும் அவர்கள் தவ்பா செய்து (மனந்திருந்தி தம் தவறுகளிலிருந்து விலகி) தொழுகையைக் கடைப்படித்து, ஜகாத்தையும் (முறையாக) கொடுத்து வருவார்களானால், அவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு மார்க்கச் சதோதரர்களே நாம் அறிவுள்ள சமூகத்தினருக்கு (நம்) வசனங்களை விளக்குகிறோம்.

and it is not possible for the muslims that all of them go out; so it should be that a party from each group goes forth in order to gain knowledge in religion, and upon returning they warn their people in the hope that they may avoid.
முஃமின்கள் ஒட்டு மொத்தமாக புறப்பட்டுச் செல்லலாகாது. ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு வர்க்கத்தாரிலிருந்தும் ஒரு சிறிய கூட்டத்தார் சன்மார்க்க (ஞானத்தைக்) கற்றுக் கொள்வதற்காகவும், (வெறியேறி சென்ற அவர்கள் பின்னே தங்கியவர்களிடம்) திரும்பி வந்தால் அவர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பதற்காகவும் புறப்பட வேண்டாமா? இதைக் கொண்டே அவர்கள் தங்களை(த் தீமையினின்றும்) பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

and it is not for the believers to march forth all together. so why should not a band from each party of them march forth so that they may gain understanding in religion and that when they come back unto them, haply they might warn their people when they come back unto them, haply they may beware!
முஃமின்கள் ஒட்டு மொத்தமாக புறப்பட்டுச் செல்லலாகாது. ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு வர்க்கத்தாரிலிருந்தும் ஒரு சிறிய கூட்டத்தார் சன்மார்க்க (ஞானத்தைக்) கற்றுக் கொள்வதற்காகவும், (வெறியேறி சென்ற அவர்கள் பின்னே தங்கியவர்களிடம்) திரும்பி வந்தால் அவர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பதற்காகவும் புறப்பட வேண்டாமா? இதைக் கொண்டே அவர்கள் தங்களை(த் தீமையினின்றும்) பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

say, [o muhammad], "indeed, i have been commanded to worship allah, [being] sincere to him in religion.
(நபியே! இன்னும்) "மார்க்கத்திற்கு அந்தரங்க சுத்தியுடன் அல்லாஹ்வை வணங்குமாறு நிச்சயமாக நான் ஏவப்பட்டிருக்கின்றேன்" என்றும் கூறுவீராக.

and it does not beseem the believers that they should go forth all together; why should not then a company from every party from among them go forth that they may apply themselves to obtain understanding in religion, and that they may warn their people when they come back to them that they may be cautious?
முஃமின்கள் ஒட்டு மொத்தமாக புறப்பட்டுச் செல்லலாகாது. ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு வர்க்கத்தாரிலிருந்தும் ஒரு சிறிய கூட்டத்தார் சன்மார்க்க (ஞானத்தைக்) கற்றுக் கொள்வதற்காகவும், (வெறியேறி சென்ற அவர்கள் பின்னே தங்கியவர்களிடம்) திரும்பி வந்தால் அவர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பதற்காகவும் புறப்பட வேண்டாமா? இதைக் கொண்டே அவர்கள் தங்களை(த் தீமையினின்றும்) பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

call them by the names of their fathers. this is the right course in the sight of god. if you do not know their fathers, they are then your brothers in religion and your friends. it will not be a sin if you make a mistake, unless you do so intentionally; for god is forgiving and kind.
(எனவே) நீங்கள் (எடுத்து வளர்த்த) அவர்களை அவர்களின் தந்தைய(ரின் பெய)ர் களைச் சொல்லி (இன்னாரின் பிள்ளையென) அழையுங்கள் - அதுவே அல்லாஹ்விடம் நீதமுள்ளதாகும்; ஆனால் அவர்களுடைய தந்தைய(ரின் பெய)ர்களை நீங்கள் அறியவில்லையாயின், அவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு சன்மார்க்க சகோதரர்களாகவும், உங்களுடைய நண்பர்களாகவும் இருக்கின்றனர்; (முன்னர்) இது பற்றி நீங்கள் தவறு செய்திருந்தால், உங்கள் மீது குற்றமில்லை ஆனால், உங்களுடைய இருதயங்கள் வேண்டுமென்றே கூறினால் (உங்கள் மீது குற்றமாகும்) அல்லாஹ் மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், மிக்க கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

god has ordained for you the same religion which he enjoined on noah, and which we have revealed to you, and which we enjoined upon abraham and moses and jesus, so that you should remain steadfast in religion and not become divided in it. what you call upon the polytheists to do is hard for them; god chooses for himself whoever he pleases and guides towards himself those who turn to him.
நூஹுக்கு எதனை அவன் உபதேசித்தானோ, அதனையே உங்களுக்கும் அவன் மார்க்கமாக்கியிருக்கின்றான். ஆகவே (நபியே) நாம் உமக்கு வஹீ மூலம் அறிவிப்பதும், இப்றாஹீமுக்கும், மூஸாவுக்கும், ஈஸாவுக்கும் நாம் உபதேசித்ததும் என்னவென்றால்; "நீங்கள் (அனைவரும்) சன்மார்க்கத்தை நிலை நிறுத்துங்கள், நீங்கள் அதில் பிரிந்து விடாதீர்கள்' என்பதே - இணைவைப்போரை நீங்கள் எதன் பக்கம் அழைக்கின்றீர்களோ, அது அவர்களுக்குப் பெரும் சுமையாகத் தெரிகிறது - தான் நாடியவர்களை அல்லாஹ் தன் பால் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொள்கிறான் - (அவனை) முன்னோக்குபவரை அவன் தன்பால் நேர்வழி காட்டுகிறான்.

call them by their fathers: that will be most equitable in the sight of allah. and if ye know not their fathers then they are your brethren in religion and your friends. and there is no fault upon you in regard to the mistake ye have made therein, but in regard to that which your hearts intend purposely. and allah is ever forgiving, merciful.
(எனவே) நீங்கள் (எடுத்து வளர்த்த) அவர்களை அவர்களின் தந்தைய(ரின் பெய)ர் களைச் சொல்லி (இன்னாரின் பிள்ளையென) அழையுங்கள் - அதுவே அல்லாஹ்விடம் நீதமுள்ளதாகும்; ஆனால் அவர்களுடைய தந்தைய(ரின் பெய)ர்களை நீங்கள் அறியவில்லையாயின், அவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு சன்மார்க்க சகோதரர்களாகவும், உங்களுடைய நண்பர்களாகவும் இருக்கின்றனர்; (முன்னர்) இது பற்றி நீங்கள் தவறு செய்திருந்தால், உங்கள் மீது குற்றமில்லை ஆனால், உங்களுடைய இருதயங்கள் வேண்டுமென்றே கூறினால் (உங்கள் மீது குற்றமாகும்) அல்லாஹ் மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், மிக்க கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

call them sons of their own fathers. it is more just in the eyes of god. if you do not know their fathers, they are your brothers and friends in religion. you will not be responsible for your mistakes, but you will be responsible for what you do intentionally. god is all-forgiving and all-merciful.
(எனவே) நீங்கள் (எடுத்து வளர்த்த) அவர்களை அவர்களின் தந்தைய(ரின் பெய)ர் களைச் சொல்லி (இன்னாரின் பிள்ளையென) அழையுங்கள் - அதுவே அல்லாஹ்விடம் நீதமுள்ளதாகும்; ஆனால் அவர்களுடைய தந்தைய(ரின் பெய)ர்களை நீங்கள் அறியவில்லையாயின், அவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு சன்மார்க்க சகோதரர்களாகவும், உங்களுடைய நண்பர்களாகவும் இருக்கின்றனர்; (முன்னர்) இது பற்றி நீங்கள் தவறு செய்திருந்தால், உங்கள் மீது குற்றமில்லை ஆனால், உங்களுடைய இருதயங்கள் வேண்டுமென்றே கூறினால் (உங்கள் மீது குற்றமாகும்) அல்லாஹ் மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், மிக்க கிருபையுடையவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

and fight in allah's cause as is the true manner of fighting; he has preferred you and has not kept any hardship upon you in religion; the religion of your father ibrahim; allah has named you muslims – in the previous books and in this qur’an, so that the noble messenger be your guardian and witness, and you be witness against other people; therefore keep the prayer established and give charity, and hold fast to the rope of allah; he is your master; so what an excellent master and what an excellent supporter!
இன்னும் நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் அவனுக்காக போராட வேண்டிய முறைப்படி போராடுங்கள்; அவன் உங்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக் கொண்டான்; இந்த தீனில் (மார்க்கத்தில்) அவன் உங்களுக்கு எந்த சிரமத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்தவில்லை இது தான் உங்கள் பிதாவாகிய இப்றாஹீமுடைய மார்க்கமாகும்; அவன்தாம் இதற்கு முன்னர் உங்களுக்கு முஸ்லிம்கள் எனப் பெயரிட்டான். இ(வ்வேதத்)திலும் (அவ்வாறே கூறப் பெற்றுள்ளது); இதற்கு நம்முடைய இத்தூதர் உங்களுக்குச் சாட்சியாக இருக்கிறார்; எனவே நீங்கள் தொழுகையை நிலை நிறுத்துங்கள் இன்னும் ஜகாத்தைக் கொடுத்து வாருங்கள், அல்லாஹ்வைப் பற்றிக் கொள்ளுங்கள், அவன்தான் உங்கள் பாதுகாவலன்;. பாதுகாவலர்களிலெல்லாம் அவனே மிக்க நல்லவன், மிகச் சிறந்த உதவியாளன்.
