such is the punishment of your lord when he seizes human settlements in the acts of wickedness. surely his hold is grievous and terrible.
அநியாயம் செய்யும் ஊ(ரா)ரை (உம் இறைவன்) பிடிப்பானேயானால், இப்படித்தான் உம் இறைவனுடைய பிடி இருக்கும் - நிச்சயமாக அவனுடைய பிடி வேதனை மிக்கதாகவம் மிகக் கடினாமானதாகவும் இருக்கும்.

you will see among them many who rush into sin and wickedness, and devour unlawful gain. how evil are the things they do!

but as for those in whose hearts is disease, it only addeth wickedness to their wickedness, and they die while they are disbelievers.

his companion will say: "o lord, i did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray."
(அப்போது ஷைத்தானாகிய) அவனுடைய கூட்டாளி கூறுவான்; "எங்கள் இறைவா! நான் இவனை வழி கெடுக்கவில்லை ஆனால், அவனே தூரமான வழி கேட்டில் தான் இருந்தான்-"

and they rejected them, although their souls were certain of them, out of wickedness and pride. so see how the outcome was for the mischief-makers.
அவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்கள் அவற்றை (உண்மையென) உறுதி கொண்ட போதிலும், அநியாயமாகவும், பெருமை கொண்டவர்களாகவும் அவர்கள் அவற்றை மறுத்தார்கள். ஆனால், இந்த விஷமிகளின் முடிவு என்னவாயிற்று என்பதை நீர் கவனிப்பீராக.

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீதி செலுத்துமாறும், நன்மை செய்யுமாறும், உறவினர்களுக்கு கொடுப்பதையும் கொண்டு (உங்களை) ஏவுகிறான்; அன்றியும், மானக்கேடான காரியங்கள், பாவங்கள், அக்கிரமங்கள் செய்தல் ஆகியவற்றை விட்டும் (உங்களை) விலக்குகின்றான் - நீங்கள நினைவு கூர்ந்து சிந்திப்பதற்காக, அவன் உங்களுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்கிறான்.

the slumber that overcame you was from god that brought you peace. he showered water from the sky over you to clean you, remove satanic wickedness from you, strengthen your hearts, and grant you steadfastness.
(நினைவு கூறுங்கள்;) நீங்கள் அமைதியடைவதற்காக அவன் சிறியதொரு நித்திரை உங்களை பொதிந்து கொள்ளுமாறு செய்தான்; இன்னும் உங்களை அதன் மூலம் தூய்மைப்படுத்துவதற்காகவும், ஷைத்தானின் தீய எண்ணங்களை உங்களைவிட்டு நீக்குவதற்காகவும், உங்கள் இருதயங்களைப் பலப்படுத்தி, உங்கள் பாதங்களை உறுதிப்படுத்துவதற்காகவும், அவன் உங்கள் மீது வானிலிருந்து மழை பொழியச் செய்தான்.

verily allah commandeth justice and well-doing and giving to kindred; and he prohibiteth lewdness and wickedness and oppression; he exhorteth you that haply ye may beadmonished.
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீதி செலுத்துமாறும், நன்மை செய்யுமாறும், உறவினர்களுக்கு கொடுப்பதையும் கொண்டு (உங்களை) ஏவுகிறான்; அன்றியும், மானக்கேடான காரியங்கள், பாவங்கள், அக்கிரமங்கள் செய்தல் ஆகியவற்றை விட்டும் (உங்களை) விலக்குகின்றான் - நீங்கள நினைவு கூர்ந்து சிந்திப்பதற்காக, அவன் உங்களுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்கிறான்.

god will open the hearts of whomever he wants to guide to islam, but he will tighten the chest of one whom he has led astray, as though he was climbing high up into the sky. thus, god places wickedness on those who do not accept the faith.
அல்லாஹ் யாருக்கு நேர்வழி காட்ட நாடுகிறானோ அவருடைய நெஞ்சை இஸ்லாத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதற்காக விசாலமாக்குகிறான் - யாரை அவன் வழி கெடுக்க நாடுகிறானோ, அவருடைய நெஞ்சை, வானத்தில் ஏறுபவன் நெஞ்சைப் போல் இறுகிச் சுருங்கும்படிச் செய்கிறான் - இவ்வாறே ஈமான் கொள்ளாதவர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் தண்டனையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறான்.

"do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" but his people gave no answer but this: they said: "bring us the wrath of allah if thou tellest the truth."
