time management refers to organizing and planning how to use your time efficiently between different activities. it is an individual's effort to maximize the effective coordination of tasks and activities. essentially, it enables people to get more and better work in less period. time management best takes advantage of the time available that takes an individual's particular situation and their capabilities in being efficient towards their daily tasks and activities. generally, students in higher education encounter challenges due to poor time management. it is suggested students start practising time management skills from early student life. according to (camangyan, 2023), due to how well a person can manage their time can greatly affect the students' accomplishments, an indication of techniques that are effective for them to have improvements in their academic performances. efficient time management positively impacts students' productivity in their activities. it is a crucial skill where it can help an individual understand what tasks are important, how to complete them, and how to schedule them. time management is very useful in enhancing the productivity of the students in accomplishing tasks and activities. this allows them to be more organized, avoid procrastination and complete assigned works on time the will lead into academic success. therefore effective time management can help students attain success towards academic excellence. in addition, (okorobie, 2023), several studies shows that effective time management is positively correlated towards academic success. in academics, effective time management can significantly enhance various benefits for students. such as improved academic performance that allows students to prepare for upcoming examinations, help them finish their tasks and submit on time for their deadlines, and to plan their time and schedule effectively. this study aims to determine the students’ perception of the concept of time management, how they perceive themselves in terms of academic achievement, the barriers to academic achievement, and what they need to eliminate them. salturk, a. (2021). high-achieving students are students who perform much better academically than their peers. while there are benefits to being a high-achieving student such as receiving more support from teachers, they also encounter unique challenges. this includes that proper time management can lead you to focus on one activity at a time for a specified duration instead of getting caught up in multitasking. this way it can result in you achieving your goals faster. the reason for conducting this research is to determine that time management is an effective tool in having well academic performance. resulting in achieving academic excellence for students who practice time management efficiently.
