மனம் குருடாக இருக்கும்போது கண்கள் பயனற்றவை

whoso is blind here will be blind in the hereafter, and yet further from the road.
யார் இம்மையில் (நேர்வழியடையாக்) குருடனாக இருக்கிறானோ அவன் மறுமையிலும் (நற்பேற்றைக் காணாக்) குருடன்தான்; இன்னும், அவன் நேர்வழியில் மிகவும் தவறியவனாவான்.

but whoever is blind in this, he will be blind in the hereafter, and further astray from the way.
யார் இம்மையில் (நேர்வழியடையாக்) குருடனாக இருக்கிறானோ அவன் மறுமையிலும் (நற்பேற்றைக் காணாக்) குருடன்தான்; இன்னும், அவன் நேர்வழியில் மிகவும் தவறியவனாவான்.

and whoever is blind in this [life] will be blind in the hereafter and more astray in way.
யார் இம்மையில் (நேர்வழியடையாக்) குருடனாக இருக்கிறானோ அவன் மறுமையிலும் (நற்பேற்றைக் காணாக்) குருடன்தான்; இன்னும், அவன் நேர்வழியில் மிகவும் தவறியவனாவான்.

and whosoever is blind in this world shall be blind in the world to come, and he shall be even further astray from the way.
யார் இம்மையில் (நேர்வழியடையாக்) குருடனாக இருக்கிறானோ அவன் மறுமையிலும் (நற்பேற்றைக் காணாக்) குருடன்தான்; இன்னும், அவன் நேர்வழியில் மிகவும் தவறியவனாவான்.

is he who knoweth that what is revealed unto thee from thy lord is the truth like him who is blind? but only men of understanding heed;
உம் இறைவனால் உம் மீது நிச்சயமாக இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தை உண்மையன அறிகிறவர் குரடராக இருப்பவரைப் போலாவாரா? நிச்சயமாக (இவ்வேதத்தின் மூலம்) அறிவுடையவர்கள் தாம் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறுவார்கள்.

and whoever is blind in this, he shall (also) be blind in the hereafter; and more erring from the way.
யார் இம்மையில் (நேர்வழியடையாக்) குருடனாக இருக்கிறானோ அவன் மறுமையிலும் (நற்பேற்றைக் காணாக்) குருடன்தான்; இன்னும், அவன் நேர்வழியில் மிகவும் தவறியவனாவான்.

the likeness of the two parties is as one who is blind and deaf, and one that sees and hears, are they equally alike, will you not remember?
இவ்விரு பிரிவினர்களுக்கு உதாரணம்; (ஒரு பிரிவினர்) குருடர், செவிடர் போலவும் (இனியொரு பிரிவினர் நல்ல) பார்வையுள்ளவர், (நல்ல) கேட்கும் சக்தியுடையவர் போலவும் இருக்கின்றனர், இவ்விரு பிரிவினரும் ஒப்புவமையில் சமமாவாரா? நீங்கள் சிந்திக்க வேண்டாமா?

what, is he who knows what is sent down to thee from thy lord is the truth, like him who is blind? only men possessed of minds remember;
உம் இறைவனால் உம் மீது நிச்சயமாக இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தை உண்மையன அறிகிறவர் குரடராக இருப்பவரைப் போலாவாரா? நிச்சயமாக (இவ்வேதத்தின் மூலம்) அறிவுடையவர்கள் தாம் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறுவார்கள்.

clear proofs have come to you from your lord. whosoever sees clearly it is for himself, and whosoever is blind, it is against himself. i am not an overseer for you.
நிச்சயமாக உங்களுக்கு உங்கள் இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஆதாரங்கள் வந்துள்ளன எவர் அவற்றை (கவனித்து)ப் பார்க்கிறாரோ அது அவருக்கே நன்மையாகும், எவர் (அவற்றைப்) பார்க்காது கண்ணை மூடிக்கொள்கிறாரோ அது அவருக்கே கேடாகும் 'நான் உங்களைக் காப்பவன் அல்ல' (என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறும்).

can one who knows that whatever has been sent down to you from your lord is the truth, be equal to one who is blind? it is only those who are endowed with insight who pay heed;
உம் இறைவனால் உம் மீது நிச்சயமாக இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தை உண்மையன அறிகிறவர் குரடராக இருப்பவரைப் போலாவாரா? நிச்சயமாக (இவ்வேதத்தின் மூலம்) அறிவுடையவர்கள் தாம் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறுவார்கள்.

clear proofs have come to you from your lord. whoso sees clearly, it is to his own gain, and whoso is blind, it is to his own loss; i am not a watcher over you.
நிச்சயமாக உங்களுக்கு உங்கள் இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஆதாரங்கள் வந்துள்ளன எவர் அவற்றை (கவனித்து)ப் பார்க்கிறாரோ அது அவருக்கே நன்மையாகும், எவர் (அவற்றைப்) பார்க்காது கண்ணை மூடிக்கொள்கிறாரோ அது அவருக்கே கேடாகும் 'நான் உங்களைக் காப்பவன் அல்ல' (என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறும்).

shall he then who knows that what has been revealed unto you (o muhammad saw) from your lord is the truth be like him who is blind? but it is only the men of understanding that pay heed.
உம் இறைவனால் உம் மீது நிச்சயமாக இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தை உண்மையன அறிகிறவர் குரடராக இருப்பவரைப் போலாவாரா? நிச்சயமாக (இவ்வேதத்தின் மூலம்) அறிவுடையவர்கள் தாம் நல்லுபதேசம் பெறுவார்கள்.

they said: we have met with ill luck on account of you and on account of those with you. he said: the cause of your evil fortune is with allah; nay, you are a people who are tried.
அதற்கவர்கள்; "உம்மையும், உம்முடன் இருப்பவர்களையும் நாங்கள் துர்ச்சகுணமாகக் காண்கிறோம்" என்று சொன்னார்கள்; அவர் கூறினார்; "உங்கள் துர்ச்சகுணம் அல்லாஹ்விடம் இருக்கிறது எனினும், நீங்கள் சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கப்படும் சமூகத்தாராக இருக்கிறீர்கள்."

and whoever is blind in this world (i.e., does not see allah's signs and believes not in him), will be blind in the hereafter, and more astray from the path.

the word handicapped used to refer to a ‘person with a disability’. this is because the word handicap means ‘ obstacles, restrictions or barriers that makes the life difficult’. handicapped people are physically or mentally disabled people. a person with a disability is one who not able to do the major physical or mental function/s of life. in our society there are many handicapped, disabled or physically disabled people. some of them are physically born-handicapped and some others are mentally retarded. there are others who have lost limbs or sense organs on account of an attack of some diseases. others are victims of accidents such as train or bus accidents, bomb-explosions, fire-burns etc, or injury in factories and so on. in this or that way, they are deprived of the pleasure of enjoying a normal life. so we must not look down upon these persons as social burdens. they must be encouraged to face life boldly and to feel that life still holds the charm for them. they can be usefully employed in various craft and vocations befitting to them. they can achieve great success if they are given enough opportunity. a man who is blind may develop a talent for music. beethoven, who was deaf, became a world-famous musician. we can also take the example of helen keller who was blind, deaf and dumb but discovered a new horizon for the blind. sudha chandran of our country is another instance who has become a celebrity as a dancer with her artificial leg and it has been possible for her iron-training to rehabilitate with dignity in our society. it is not charity but fellow-feeling which they need. there are some philanthropic organizations and ngos that are doing good work to rehabilitate the handicapped. the government has also taken some steps for the handicapped such as free journey by bus or by train, reservation of some employment etc. but that is not enough. ‘disabled people’ or ‘differently abled people’ should get the emotional, financial, and physical support from the society. we should have sympathy for them. we should all come forward to fight against discrimination against differently abled people. every person on earth deserves equal respect. as for the handicapped children the parents and other members of the society should have a soft corner in their hearts to acknowledge their position in the society. further, since disabled people are actually ‘differently abled’ people, they should get enough opportunity to sharpen their skills and bring out the amazing hidden talents.
