በራሴ ላይ ምንም አላውቅምና፥ ነገር ግን በዚህ አልጸድቅም፤ እኔን የሚፈርድ ግን ጌታ ነው።

ኢየሱስ መልሶ። እኔ ነኝ አልኋችሁ፤ እንግዲህ እኔን ትፈልጉ እንደ ሆናችሁ እነዚህ ይሂዱ ተዉአቸው አለ፤
jesus answered, i have told you that i am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

በዚያን ጊዜ ኢየሱስ ለደቀ መዛሙርቱ እንዲህ አለ። እኔን መከተል የሚወድ ቢኖር፥ ራሱን ይካድ መስቀሉንም ተሸክሞ ይከተለኝ።
then said jesus unto his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

እኔ ራሴ እንደ ሆንሁ እጆቼንና እግሮቼን እዩ፤ በእኔ እንደምታዩት፥ መንፈስ ሥጋና አጥንት የለውምና እኔን ዳስሳችሁ እዩ አላቸው።
behold my hands and my feet, that it is i myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

ባርያ ከጌታው አይበልጥም ብዬ የነገርኋችሁን ቃል አስቡ። እኔን አሳደውኝ እንደ ሆኑ እናንተን ደግሞ ያሳድዱአችኋል፤ ቃሌን ጠብቀው እንደ ሆኑ ቃላችሁን ደግሞ ይጠብቃሉ።
remember the word that i said unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord. if they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

( ኢብሊስ ) አለ « ጌታዬ ሆይ ! እኔን በማጥመምህ ይኹንብኝ ለነርሱ በምድር ላይ ( ኀጢአትን ) እሸልምላቸዋለሁ ፡ ፡ ሁሉንም አጠማቸዋለሁም ፡ ፡ »
