but ye prefer the life of this world ,
ይልቁንም ቅርቢቱን ሕይወት ትመርጣላችሁ ፡ ፡

but rather you prefer the life of this world !
ይልቁንም ቅርቢቱን ሕይወት ትመርጣላችሁ ፡ ፡

and preferred the life of this world ,
ቅርቢቱንም ሕይወት የመረጠ ፣

and had preferred the life of this world ,
ቅርቢቱንም ሕይወት የመረጠ ፣

but it is to god that the hereafter and this world belong .
መጨረሻይቱም መጀመሪያይቱም ( ዓለም ) የአላህ ብቻ ናቸው ፡ ፡

nay ! you prefer the life of this world ,
ይልቁንም ቅርቢቱን ሕይወት ትመርጣላችሁ ፡ ፡

yet to allah belong this world and the hereafter .
መጨረሻይቱም መጀመሪያይቱም ( ዓለም ) የአላህ ብቻ ናቸው ፡ ፡

" there is nothing but our life of this world ! we die and we live !
« እርሷ ( ሕይወት ) ቅርቢቱ ሕይወታችን እንጂ ሌላ አይደለችም ፡ ፡ እንሞታለን ፤ ( ልጆቻችን ስለሚተኩ ) ሕያውም እንኾናለን ፡ ፡ እኛም ተቀስቃሾች አይደለንም ፡ ፡

and indeed the hereafter and this world both belong to us .
መጨረሻይቱም መጀመሪያይቱም ዓለም የእኛ ናቸው ፡ ፡

of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
ስለ ፍርድም፥ የዚህ ዓለም ገዥ ስለ ተፈረደበት ነው።

" there is nothing but our life in this world ! we shall die and we live !
« እርሷ ( ሕይወት ) ቅርቢቱ ሕይወታችን እንጂ ሌላ አይደለችም ፡ ፡ እንሞታለን ፤ ( ልጆቻችን ስለሚተኩ ) ሕያውም እንኾናለን ፡ ፡ እኛም ተቀስቃሾች አይደለንም ፡ ፡

so god seized him for the punishment of the hereafter and this world .
አላህም በኋለኛይቱና በፊተኛይቱ ( ቃል ) ቅጣት ያዘው ፡ ፡

nay ; but this is a glorious qur 'an ,
ይልቁንም እርሱ የከበረ ቁርኣን ነው ፡ ፡

so you turn away from him who turns away from our rememberance and wants nothing but the life of this world :
ከግሣጼያችንም ( ከቁርኣን ) ከሸሸና አነስተኛይቱን ሕይወት እንጅ ሌላን ከማይሻ ሰው ዙር ( ተወው ) ፡ ፡

allah therefore seized him , in the punishment of this world and the hereafter .
አላህም በኋለኛይቱና በፊተኛይቱ ( ቃል ) ቅጣት ያዘው ፡ ፡

so allah seized him with the punishment of the everlasting life , and of this world .
አላህም በኋለኛይቱና በፊተኛይቱ ( ቃል ) ቅጣት ያዘው ፡ ፡

and preferred the life of this world ( by following his evil desires and lusts ) ,
ቅርቢቱንም ሕይወት የመረጠ ፣

and indeed the hereafter is better for you than the present ( life of this world ) .
መጨረሻይቱም ( ዓለም ) ከመጀመሪያይቱ ይልቅ ላንተ በላጭ ናት ፡ ፡

and we vouchsafed unto him good in this world , and in the hereafter he shall be of the righteous .
በቅርቢቱም ዓለም በጎን ነገር ሰጠነው ፡ ፡ እርሱም በመጨረሻይቱ ዓለም በእርግጥ ከመልካሞቹ ነው ፡ ፡

and we gave him goodness in this world ; and indeed in the hereafter he is worthy of proximity .
በቅርቢቱም ዓለም በጎን ነገር ሰጠነው ፡ ፡ እርሱም በመጨረሻይቱ ዓለም በእርግጥ ከመልካሞቹ ነው ፡ ፡
