when jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, doth this offend you?
Յիսուս երբ ինքն իրենից իմացաւ, որ իր աշակերտները դրա համար տրտնջում են, նրանց ասաց. «Այդ ձեզ գայթակղեցնո՞ւմ է.

it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Նրա համար լաւ կը լինէր, եթէ իր պարանոցից երկանաքար վէմ կախուէր, եւ նա ծովը գցուէր, քան թէ այս փոքրիկներից մէկին գայթակղեցնէր:

and whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
«Եւ ով որ ինձ հաւատացող այս փոքրիկներից մէկին գայթակղեցնի, նրա համար աւելի լաւ կը լինէր, եթէ նրա պարանոցից կախուած լինէր էշի մի երկանաքար, եւ ծով գցուէր:

but whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Եւ ով որ ինձ հաւատացող այս փոքրիկներից մէկին գայթակղեցնի, նրա համար լաւ կը լինի, որ նրա պարանոցից էշի երկանաքար կախուի, եւ նա սուզուի ծովի խորքը:

and if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
Եւ եթէ քո աչքն է գայթակղեցնում քեզ, հանի՛ր այն եւ դէ՛ն գցիր քեզնից. լաւ է, որ դու միականի մտնես կեանք, քան երկու աչք ունենաս եւ ընկնես գեհենի կրակը:

and if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Եւ եթէ քո ոտքն է գայթակղեցնում քեզ, կտրի՛ր, քեզնից դէ՛ն գցիր այն. լաւ է, որ դու կաղ մտնես յաւիտենական կեանքը, քան թէ երկու ոտք ունենաս ու գեհեն ընկնես:

wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
Եթէ քո ձեռքը կամ ոտքը քեզ գայթակղեցնում է, կտրի՛ր այն եւ դէ՛ն գցիր քեզնից. լաւ է, որ դու մէկ ձեռքով կամ կաղ մտնես կեանք, քան երկու ձեռք ու երկու ոտք ունենաս եւ յաւիտենական կրակի մէջ ընկնես:

notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
Բայց որպէսզի նրանց չգայթակղեցնենք, գնա՛ ծով ու կարթ գցի՛ր, եւ առաջին ձուկը, որ դուրս կ՚ելնի, վերցրո՛ւ ու բա՛ց նրա բերանը եւ մի արծաթ դրամ կը գտնես. այն ա՛ռ եւ իմ ու քո տեղ նրանց կը տաս»:
