तुम उस स्त्री की भाँति न हो जाओ जिसने अपना सूत मेहनत से कातने के पश्चात टुकड़ - टुकड़े करके रख दिया । तुम अपनी क़समों को परस्पर हस्तक्षेप करने का बहाना बनाने लगो इस ध्येय से कहीं ऐसा न हो कि एक गिरोह दूसरे गिरोह से बढ़ जाए । बात केवल यह है कि अल्लाह इस प्रतिज्ञा के द्वारा तुम्हारी परीक्षा लेता है और जिस बात में तुम विभेद करते हो उसकी वास्तविकता तो वह क़ियामत के दिन अवश्य ही तुम पर खोल देगा

and be not like her who unravels her yarn , disintegrating it into pieces after she has spun it strongly . you make your oaths to be means of deceit between you because nation is more numerous than nation . allah only tries you by this ; and he will most certainly make clear to you on the resurrection day that about which you differed .
और तुम लोग उस औरत के ऐसे न हो जो अपना सूत मज़बूत कातने के बाद टुकड़े टुकड़े करके तोड़ डाले कि अपने एहदो को आपस में उस बात की मक्कारी का ज़रिया बनाने लगो कि एक गिरोह दूसरे गिरोह से बढ़ जाए इससे बस ख़ुदा तुमको आज़माता है और जिन बातों में तुम दुनिया में झगड़ते थे क़यामत के दिन ख़ुदा खुद तुम से साफ साफ बयान कर देगा

and be not like a woman who breaks into untwisted strands the yarn which she has spun , after it has become strong . nor take your oaths to practise deception between yourselves , lest one party should be more numerous than another : for allah will test you by this ; and on the day of judgment he will certainly make clear to you that wherein ye disagree .
