the author of a manuscript containing two different recipe books, each preserved in the b.in.g. collection at sorengo, is commonly known by the name of anonymous southerner. this term was coined by ingemar boström, who published the manuscript (with its clearly southern expressions, particularly neapolitan) in italian. published at the end of the xiv or beginning of the xv century, the manuscript is divided into two books that are quite different from one another. book a contains 164 recipes, some of which written in latin. even though many of its recipes have been eliminated and others updated or transformed, the book is part of a large group of recipe books which are evidence of the great success that this particular culinary tradition enjoyed in italy in the late middle ages.
un manoscritto contenente due diversi ricettari, oggi conservato alla collezione b.in.g. di sorengo, è comunemente noto con il nome di anonimo meridionale, conferitogli da ingemar boström che lo ha edito, per i suoi evidenti meridionalismi (in particolare napoletani) nella lingua. redatto alla fine del xiv secolo o all'inizio del xv, il manoscritto è diviso in due libri frammentari alquanto diversi tra loro. il libro a contiene 164 ricette alcune delle quali scritte in latino e fa parte, anche se molte ricette sono state soppresse e altre aggiornate e trasformate, di un folto gruppo di ricettari che testimoniano il grande successo che questa tradizione ebbe in italia nel tardo medioevo.
