then allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. he said, "o woe to me! have i failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?" and he became of the regretful.
اب خدا نے ایک کوّا بھیجا جو زمین کریدنے لگا تاکہ اسے دکھائے کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش کو کیونکر چھپائے کہنے لگا اے ہے مجھ سے اتنا بھی نہ ہو سکا کہ اس کوے کے برابر ہوتا کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش چھپا دیتا پھر وہ پشیمان ہوا

then allah sent a raven scratching in the earth to show him in what wise he might cover the corpse of his brother. he said: woe unto me was incapable of being like unto this raven so that i might cover the corpse of my brother! and he became of the remorseful.
اب خدا نے ایک کوّا بھیجا جو زمین کریدنے لگا تاکہ اسے دکھائے کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش کو کیونکر چھپائے کہنے لگا اے ہے مجھ سے اتنا بھی نہ ہو سکا کہ اس کوے کے برابر ہوتا کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش چھپا دیتا پھر وہ پشیمان ہوا

then allah sent a raven scratching up the ground, to show him how to hide his brother's naked corpse. he said: woe unto me! am i not able to be as this raven and so hide my brother's naked corpse? and he became repentant.
اب خدا نے ایک کوّا بھیجا جو زمین کریدنے لگا تاکہ اسے دکھائے کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش کو کیونکر چھپائے کہنے لگا اے ہے مجھ سے اتنا بھی نہ ہو سکا کہ اس کوے کے برابر ہوتا کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش چھپا دیتا پھر وہ پشیمان ہوا

then allah sent down a crow, which dug the earth to show him how to bury the naked corpse of his brother. 'alas' he said, 'am i unable to be like this crow and so i bury my brother's naked corpse' and he became among those who regret.
اب خدا نے ایک کوّا بھیجا جو زمین کریدنے لگا تاکہ اسے دکھائے کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش کو کیونکر چھپائے کہنے لگا اے ہے مجھ سے اتنا بھی نہ ہو سکا کہ اس کوے کے برابر ہوتا کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش چھپا دیتا پھر وہ پشیمان ہوا

so send my brother aaron with me as helper for he is more fluent than i with words, that he should affirm me, for i fear that they would call me a liar."
اور میرا بھائی ہارون (علیہ السلام) مجھ سے بہت زیاده فصیح زبان واﻻ ہے تو اسے بھی میرا مددگار بنا کر میرے ساتھ بھیج کہ وه مجھے سچا مانے، مجھے تو خوف ہے کہ وه سب مجھے جھٹلا دیں گے

surely this is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes and i have a single ewe; but he said: make it over to me, and he has prevailed against me in discourse.
(سنیے) یہ میرا بھائی ہے اس کے پاس نناوے دنبیاں ہیں اور میرے پاس ایک ہی دنبی ہے لیکن یہ مجھ سے کہہ رہا ہے کہ اپنی یہ ایک بھی مجھ ہی کو دے دے اور مجھ پر بات میں بڑی سختی برتتا ہے

he said, “it was she who tried to seduce me.” a witness from her household suggested: “if his shirt is torn from the front: then she has told the truth, and he is the liar.
کہا اس نے مجھ کو لبھایا کہ میں اپنی حفاظت نہ کروں اور عورت کے گھر والوں میں سے ایک گواہ نے گواہی دی اگر ان کا کر ُتا آگے سے چرا ہے تو عورت سچی ہے اور انہوں نے غلط کہا

“this is my brother; he has ninety nine ewes and i have one ewe; and he now says ‘give that one also to me’ – and he is very demanding in speech.”
(سنیے) یہ میرا بھائی ہے اس کے پاس نناوے دنبیاں ہیں اور میرے پاس ایک ہی دنبی ہے لیکن یہ مجھ سے کہہ رہا ہے کہ اپنی یہ ایک بھی مجھ ہی کو دے دے اور مجھ پر بات میں بڑی سختی برتتا ہے

behold, this is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes and i have only one ewe.” and yet he said: “give her into my charge,” and he got the better of me in argument.
(سنیے) یہ میرا بھائی ہے اس کے پاس نناوے دنبیاں ہیں اور میرے پاس ایک ہی دنبی ہے لیکن یہ مجھ سے کہہ رہا ہے کہ اپنی یہ ایک بھی مجھ ہی کو دے دے اور مجھ پر بات میں بڑی سختی برتتا ہے
