how a zebra got it's stripes. there was a white beautiful zebra and a monkey. the zebra was very lazy. he didn't want to put u food away for winter like baboon.when winter came he was hungry. he could smell food from far. he followed the smell. the baboons were feasting around the fire. the white zebra tried to steal the food. he fell into the dark burnt coal. the fur got burnt. he ran into the river to wash. but the dark burnt stripes did not go away. that is how zebra got its stripes.
hoe 'n sebra sy strepe gekry het. daar was 'n wit pragtige sebra en 'n aap. die sebra was baie lui. hy wou nie kos soos bobbejaan vir die winter wegsit nie. toe die winter aanbreek, was hy honger. hy ruik van ver af kos. hy volg die reuk. die bobbejane het om die vuur gesmul. die wit sebra het probeer om die kos te steel. hy val in die donker gebrande steenkool. die pels het gebrand. hy hardloop die rivier in om te was. maar die donker gebrande strepe het nie verdwyn nie. dit is hoe zebra sy strepe gekry het.
