and there were those who said ,
እነርሱም ( ከሓዲዎቹ ) በእርግጥ ይሉ ነበሩ ፡ -

and all the men were about twelve.
ሰዎቹም ሁሉ አሥራ ሁለት ያህሉ ነበር።

when there were shown to him at eventide lightfooted coursers
በእርሱ ላይ ከቀትር በኋላ በሦስት እግሮችና በአራተኛዋ ኮቴ ጫፍ የሚቆሙ ጮሌዎች ፈረሶች በተቀረቡለት ጊዜ ( አስታውስ ) ፡ ፡

but there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
ከጻፎችም አንዳንዶቹ በዚያ ተቀምጠው ነበር በልባቸውም። ይህ ሰው ስለ ምን እንደዚህ ያለ ስድብ ይናገራል?

and the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors ,
ሰማይም በምትከፈትና ( ባለ ) ደጃፎችም በምትኾንበት ፡ ፡

and there were nine of a group in the city , who spread corruption in the land and rectified not .
በከተማይቱም ውስጥ በምድር ውስጥ የሚያበላሹና የማያሳምሩ ዘጠኝ ሰዎች ነበሩ ፡ ፡

' there were some foolish ones among us , who used to utter extravagant lies against allah ;
‹ እነሆም ቂላችን በአላህ ላይ ወሰን ያለፈን ( ውሸት ) ይናገር ነበር ፡ ፡ ›

and there were gathered unto sulaiman his hosts of jinns and mankind and birds , and they were set in bands .
ለሱለይማንም ሰራዊቶቹ ከጋኔን ፣ ከሰውም ፣ ከበራሪም የኾኑት ተሰበሰቡ ፡ ፡ እነሱም ይከመከማሉ ፡ ፡

and there were in the city nine persons who made mischief in the land and reformed not .
በከተማይቱም ውስጥ በምድር ውስጥ የሚያበላሹና የማያሳምሩ ዘጠኝ ሰዎች ነበሩ ፡ ፡

" as if there were ( a string of ) yellow camels ( marching swiftly ) . "
( ቃንቄውም ) ልክ ዳለቻዎች ግመሎችን ይመስላል ፡ ፡

say : if there were with him gods as they say , then certainly they would have been able to seek a way to the lord of power .
( ሙሐመድ ሆይ ) በላቸው « እንደምትሉት ከእርሱ ጋር አማልክት በነበሩ ኖሮ ያን ጊዜ ወደ ዐርሹ ባለቤት መንገድን በፈለጉ ነበር ፡ ፡ »

and there were nine persons in the city who used to cause turmoil in the land and did not wish reform .
በከተማይቱም ውስጥ በምድር ውስጥ የሚያበላሹና የማያሳምሩ ዘጠኝ ሰዎች ነበሩ ፡ ፡

and there were gathered together unto solomon his armies of the jinn and humankind , and of the birds , and they were set in battle order ;
ለሱለይማንም ሰራዊቶቹ ከጋኔን ፣ ከሰውም ፣ ከበራሪም የኾኑት ተሰበሰቡ ፡ ፡ እነሱም ይከመከማሉ ፡ ፡

and there were in the city nine men ( from the sons of their chiefs ) , who made mischief in the land , and would not reform .
በከተማይቱም ውስጥ በምድር ውስጥ የሚያበላሹና የማያሳምሩ ዘጠኝ ሰዎች ነበሩ ፡ ፡

if there were in them gods other than god , they would have gone to ruin . so glory be to god , lord of the throne , beyond what they allege .
በሁለቱ ( በሰማያትና በምድር ) ውስጥ ከአላህ ሌላ አማልክት በነበሩ ኖሮ በተበላሹ ነበር ፡ ፡ የዐርሹ ጌታ አላህም ከሚሉት ሁሉ ጠራ ፡ ፡

and of the rebellious people there were those who dived for him and did other work besides that , and we kept guard over them ;
ከሰይጣናትም ለእርሱ ( ሉልን ለማውጣት ) የሚጠልሙንና ከዚያም ሌላ ያለን ሥራ የሚሠሩን ( ገራንለት ) ፡ ፡ ለእነሱም ተጠባባቂዎች ነበርን ፡ ፡

and there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn , so they [ only ] increased them in burden .
‹ እነሆም ከሰዎች የኾኑ ወንዶች በጋኔን ወንዶች ይጠበቁ ነበሩ ፡ ፡ ኩራትንም ጨመሩዋቸው ፡ ፡ ›

' true , there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the jinns , but they increased them in folly .
‹ እነሆም ከሰዎች የኾኑ ወንዶች በጋኔን ወንዶች ይጠበቁ ነበሩ ፡ ፡ ኩራትንም ጨመሩዋቸው ፡ ፡ ›

until , when he comes to us , he will say , “ if only there were between me and you the distance of the two easts . ” what an evil companion !
( በትንሣኤ ) ወደኛ በመጣም ጊዜ ( ቁራኛዬ ሆይ ! ) « በእኔና ባንተ መካከል የምሥራቅና የምዕራብ ርቀት በኖረ ወይ ምኞቴ ! ምን የከፋህ ቁራኛ ነህ » ይላል ፡ ፡

among my servants , there were those who said , " lord , we believe , so forgive us and have mercy on us . you are the best one to show mercy . "
እነሆ ከባሮቼ « ጌታችን ሆይ ! አምነናልና ማረን ፡ ፡ እዘንልንም አንተም ከአዛኞች ሁሉ ይበልጥ አዛኝ ነህ » የሚሉ ክፍሎች ነበሩ ፡ ፡
