abraham begat isaac; and isaac begat jacob; and jacob begat judas and his brethren;

judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.

judas saith unto him, not iscariot, lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

and supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of judas iscariot, simon's son, to betray him;

then judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
ⲦⲞⲦⲈ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲚⲀⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲤ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲎ ⲒϤ ϪⲈ ⲀⲨⲈⲢⲔⲀⲦⲀⲔⲢⲒⲚⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲞⲨⲈⲘϨⲐⲎ ϤⲀϤⲦⲀⲤⲐⲞ ⲚϮⲖ ⲚϨⲀⲦ ϨⲀ ⲚⲒⲀⲢⲬ ⲒⲈⲢⲈⲨⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒⲠⲢⲈⲤⲂⲨⲦⲈⲢⲞⲤ.

and immediately, while he yet spake, cometh judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

for some of them thought, because judas had the bag, that jesus had said unto him, buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
