for he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
porquanto debalde veio, e em trevas se vai, e de trevas se cobre o seu nome;

the east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.
o vento oriental leva-o, e ele se vai; sim, varre-o com ímpeto do seu lugar:

surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, o house of israel, saith the lord.
deveras, como a mulher se aparta aleivosamente do seu marido, assim aleivosamente te houveste comigo, ó casa de israel, diz o senhor.

thus saith the lord; cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the lord.
assim diz o senhor: maldito o varão que confia no homem, e faz da carne o seu braço, e aparta o seu coração do senhor!

then as for the scum, it departeth as rubbish, and as for that which benefiteth the mankind, it lasteth on the earth: thus doth allah propound the similitudes.
assim deus evidencia o verdadeiro e o falso. a espuma desvanece-se rapidamente: o que beneficia o homem, porém, permanece na terra.

58 but the garment, or the warp, or the woof, or whatever thing of skin which thou hast washed, and the sore departeth from them, it shall be washed a second time, and it is clean.
58 mas a vestidura, quer a urdidura, quer a trama, ou qualquer coisa de pele, que lavares, e de que a praga se retirar, se lavará segunda vez, e será limpa.

but when the fear cometh, then thou (muhammad) seest them regarding thee with rolling eyes like one who fainteth unto death. then, when the fear departeth, they scald you with sharp tongues in their greed for wealth (from the spoil).
quando o medo se apodera deles, observa (Ó mohammad), que te olham com os olhosinjetados, como quem se encontra num transe de morte; porém, quando se lhes desvanece o temor, zurzem-te com suaslínguas ferinas, avarentos quanto ao feitio do bem.
