ஆனால், அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் விரிக்கப்பட்ட வேதங்கள் தனக்கும் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று நாடுகிறான்.

and one of them turned towards the other, questioning.
அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரை முன்னோக்கி விசாரித்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

it is he who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. each of them is floating in its orbit.

each one of them, that day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others.
அன்று ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனுக்கும் அவனவன் (அவல) நிலையே போதுமானதாயிருக்கும்.

and if one of them is given the glad tidings of what he professes regarding the most gracious, his face blackens and he is mournful!
அர் ரஹ்மானுக்கு அவர்கள் எதனை ஒப்பாக்கினார்களோ அதை (அதாவது பெண் குழந்தையை) கொண்டு அவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு நற்செய்தி கூறப்படும்பொழுது அவனுடைய முகம் கருத்துப் போய்விடுகின்றது. மேலும் அவன் கோபம் நிரம்பியவனாகவும் ஆகிவிடுகின்றான்.

and when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
அவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு பெண் குழந்தை பிறந்துள்ளது என்று நன்மாராயங் கூறப்பட்டால் அவன் முகம் கறுத்து விடுகிறது - அவன் கோபமுடையவனாகிறான்.

and ishmael and elisha and jonah and lot. each one (of them) did we prefer above (our) creatures,
இன்னும் இஸ்மாயீல், அல்யஸஉ, யூனுஸ், லூத் - இவர்கள் யாவரையும் உலகத்திலுள்ள அனைவரிலும் மேன்மையாக்கினோம்.

and zechariah, and john, and jesus, and elias—every one of them was of the upright.
இன்னும், ஜகரிய்யா, யஹ்யா, ஈஸா, இல்யாஸ் - இவர்கள் யாவரும் (நேர் வழிசார்ந்த) ஸாலிஹானவர்களில் நின்றுமுள்ளவர்களே.

between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.
(ஆயினும்) அவற்றிடையே ஒரு தடுப்பும் இருக்கிறது, அதை அவை மீறமாட்டா.

and of them is he who believeth therein, and of them is he who believeth not therein, and thy lord is best aware of the corrupters.
அவர்களில் இதன் மீது ஈமான் கொண்டவர்களும் இருக்கின்றனர்; இதன் மீது ஈமான் கொள்ளாதோரும் இருக்கின்றனர் - இன்னும். உங்கள் இறைவன் விஷமம் செய்பவர்களை நன்றானக அறிகிறான்.
