உங்களுக்கு என்ன (நேர்ந்து விட்டது)? எவ்வாறு நீங்கள் தீர்மானிக்கிறீர்கள்?

my nation, how is it that i call you to salvation and you call me to the fire?
"என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! எனக்கென்ன? நான் உங்களை ஈடேற்றத்தின்பால் அழைக்கிறேன்; ஆனால் நீங்களோ என்னை (நரக) நெருப்பினால் அழைக்கிறீர்கள்.

and he reviewed the birds, then said: how is it i see not the hoopoe or is it that he is of the absentees?
அவர் பறவைகளை(ப் பற்றியும்) பரிசீலனை செய்து "நான் (இங்கே) ஹுது ஹுது(ப் பறவையைக்) காணவில்லையே என்ன காரணம்? அல்லது அது மறைந்தவற்றில் நின்றும் ஆகி விட்டதோ?" என்று கூறினார்.

and he sought among the birds and said: how is it that i see not the hoopoe, or is he among the absent?
அவர் பறவைகளை(ப் பற்றியும்) பரிசீலனை செய்து "நான் (இங்கே) ஹுது ஹுது(ப் பறவையைக்) காணவில்லையே என்ன காரணம்? அல்லது அது மறைந்தவற்றில் நின்றும் ஆகி விட்டதோ?" என்று கூறினார்.

then solomon inspected the birds, and said, "how is it that i do not see the hoopoe? is he absent then?
அவர் பறவைகளை(ப் பற்றியும்) பரிசீலனை செய்து "நான் (இங்கே) ஹுது ஹுது(ப் பறவையைக்) காணவில்லையே என்ன காரணம்? அல்லது அது மறைந்தவற்றில் நின்றும் ஆகி விட்டதோ?" என்று கூறினார்.

(solomon) inspected the birds and said, "how is it that i cannot see the hoopoe. is he absent?
அவர் பறவைகளை(ப் பற்றியும்) பரிசீலனை செய்து "நான் (இங்கே) ஹுது ஹுது(ப் பறவையைக்) காணவில்லையே என்ன காரணம்? அல்லது அது மறைந்தவற்றில் நின்றும் ஆகி விட்டதோ?" என்று கூறினார்.

how is it that you enjoin others to follow the right way, but forget it yourselves, though you read the scriptures? have you no sense at all?
நீங்கள் வேதத்தையும் ஓதிக் கொண்டே, (மற்ற) மனிதர்களை நன்மை செய்யுமாறு ஏவி, தங்களையே மறந்து விடுகிறீர்களா? நீங்கள் சிந்தித்துப் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டாமா?

they also say: 'how is it that this messenger eats food and walks about the markets? why has no angel been sent down with him to warn us?
மேலும் அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்; "இந்த ரஸூலுக்கு என்ன? இவர் (மற்றவர்களைப் போலவே) உணவு உண்கிறார் கடை வீதிகளில் நடக்கிறார். இவருடன் சேர்ந்து அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பதற்காக, ஒரு மலக்கு (வானவர்) அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டாமா?"

and he reviewed the birds; then he said, 'how is it with me, that i do not see the hoopoe? or is he among the absent?
அவர் பறவைகளை(ப் பற்றியும்) பரிசீலனை செய்து "நான் (இங்கே) ஹுது ஹுது(ப் பறவையைக்) காணவில்லையே என்ன காரணம்? அல்லது அது மறைந்தவற்றில் நின்றும் ஆகி விட்டதோ?" என்று கூறினார்.

"how is it, o iblis," said (the lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?"
"இப்லீஸே! சிரம் பணிந்தவர்களுடனே நீயும் சேராமல் (விலகி) இருந்ததற்குக் காரணம் என்ன?" என்று (இறைவன்) கேட்டான்.

how is it that you are divided in two factions about the hypocrites? god has routed them for what they were doing. do you wish to guide him to the path whom god has allowed to go astray? as for him whom god allows to go astray you will not find a way.
நயவஞ்சகர்களைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் இருவகையான (அபிப்பிராயங்கள் கொண்ட) பிரிவினர்களாக இருப்பதற்கு உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? அவர்கள் செய்த தீவினைகளின் காரணத்தால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்களைத் தலை குனிய வைத்துவிட்டான்;. எவர்களை அல்லாஹ் வழி தவறச் செய்து விட்டானோ, அவர்களை நீங்கள் நேர்வழியில் செலுத்த விரும்புகிறீர்களா? எவரை அல்லாஹ் வழி தவறச் செய்து விட்டானோ, நிச்சயமாக அவருக்கு (மீட்சியடைய) எவ்வித வழியையும் (நபியே!) நீர் காணமாட்டீர்.

and how is it that you do not eat of that over which allah's name has been pronounced even though he has clearly spelled out to you what he has forbidden you unless you are constrained to it? many indeed say misleading things without knowledge, driven merely by their lowly desires. but your lord knows well the transgressors.
அல்லாஹ்வின் பெயர் கூறி (உங்களுக்கு அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டவற்றில்) அறுக்கப்பட்டதை நீங்கள் சாப்பிடாமலிருக்க என்ன (தடை) இருக்கிறது? நீங்கள் நிர்ப்பந்திக்கப்பட்டாலன்றி சாப்பிட உங்களுக்கு விலக்கப்பட்டவை எவை என்பதை அல்லாஹ் விவரித்துக் கூறியுள்ளான் - ஆனால் பெரும்பாலோர், அறியாமையின் காரணமாகத் தங்களுடைய மன இச்சைகளின் பிரகாரம் (மனிதர்களை) வழி கெடுக்கிறார்கள்; வரம்பு மீறிச்செல்பவர்களை நிச்சயமாக உம் இறைவன் நன்கு அறிகிறான்.
