when he came from jerusalem to meet the king, the king asked him, "why didn't you go with me, mephibosheth?"

pero david llamó a siba, el administrador de saúl, y le dijo: todo lo que pertenecía a tu amo saúl y a su familia se lo entrego a su nieto mefiboset.
then the king summoned ziba, saul's servant, and said to him, "i have given your master's grandson everything that belonged to saul and his family.

y siba respondió al rey: --tu siervo hará conforme a todo lo que mande mi señor el rey a su siervo. y mefiboset comía a la mesa de david como uno de los hijos del rey
then said ziba unto the king, according to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. as for mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.

luego de convertirse en rey, david encontró a mefiboset, el hijo de jonathan, y le entregó todas las tierras que pertenecían a su abuelo, saúl, y además cuidó de él en su palacio.
after becoming the king, david found mephibosheth, the son of jonathan, and restored to him all the lands of his grandfather, saul, and took care of him in his palace.

también mefiboset, el nieto de saúl, salió a recibir al rey. no se había lavado los pies ni la ropa, ni se había recortado el bigote, desde el día en que el rey tuvo que irse hasta que regresó sano y salvo.
mephibosheth, saul's grandson, also went down to meet the king. he had not taken care of his feet or trimmed his mustache or washed his clothes from the day the king left until the day he returned safely.

entonces mefiboset hijo de jonatán, hijo de saúl, vino a david, y cayendo sobre su rostro se postró. david le dijo: --¿mefiboset? y él respondió: --he aquí tu siervo
now when mephibosheth, the son of jonathan, the son of saul, was come unto david, he fell on his face, and did reverence. and david said, mephibosheth. and he answered, behold thy servant!
