فقال حوشاي لابشالوم ليست حسنة المشورة التي اشار بها اخيتوفل هذه المرّة.
and hushai said unto absalom, the counsel that ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.

فنصبوا لابشالوم الخيمة على السطح ودخل ابشالوم الى سراري ابيه امام جميع اسرائيل.
so they spread absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and absalom went in unto his father's concubines in the sight of all israel.

فقال حوشاي لابشالوم كلا ولكن الذي اختاره الرب وهذا الشعب وكل رجال اسرائيل فله اكون ومعه اقيم.
and hushai said unto absalom, nay; but whom the lord, and this people, and all the men of israel, choose, his will i be, and with him will i abide.

فقال الملك لابشالوم لا يا ابني. لا نذهب كلنا لئلا نثقل عليك. فالحّ عليه. فلم يشأ ان يذهب بل باركه.
and the king said to absalom, nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable unto thee. and he pressed him: howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.

فقال اخيتوفل لابشالوم ادخل الى سراري ابيك اللواتي تركهنّ لحفظ البيت فيسمع كل اسرائيل انك قد صرت مكروها من ابيك فتتشدد ايدي جميع الذين معك.
and ahithophel said unto absalom, go in unto thy father's concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.

ولكن اذا رجعت الى المدينة وقلت لابشالوم انا اكون عبدك ايها الملك. انا عبد ابيك منذ زمان والآن انا عبدك. فانك تبطل لي مشورة اخيتوفل.
but if thou return to the city, and say unto absalom, i will be thy servant, o king; as i have been thy father's servant hitherto, so will i now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of ahithophel.
