sicut scriptum est ecce pono in sion lapidem offensionis et petram scandali et omnis qui credit in eum non confundetu
as it is written, behold, i lay in sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

propter quod continet in scriptura ecce pono in sion lapidem summum angularem electum pretiosum et qui crediderit in eo non confundetu
wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, behold, i lay in sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
