ilekroć czułem, że podnoszę głos, wstawałem i dodawałem do niego trochę masala. (śmiech) utrzymanie uwagi publiczności wymaga w pewnym sensie braku formalizmu.
whenever i felt like raising my voice, i got up and added some more masala to it. (laughter) it should be somewhat informal too, to maintain the audience’s attention.

nie pamiętam, żebym kiedyś wstał w południe, albo nawet po południu. zdarzało mi się wstawać w nocy – to znaczy tak bardzo wcześnie rano, że była to zdecydowanie bardziej noc niż pora określana mianem choćby przedświtu, bo nic nie wskazywało na to, że już wnet głęboka czerń ulegnie spłyceniu i zacznie powolutku przemieniać się w szarość, bardzo gęstą jeszcze, ale jednak szarość (pora roku nie ma tu znaczenia, choć zapewne śnieżne zaspy lub kobierce gnijących żółtobrunatnych liści zapewne jakoś na intensywność tej czerni by wpływały) – na przykład wtedy, gdy musiałem wyruszyć w jakąś podróż, by dotrzeć gdzieś na określoną godzinę. zdarzało mi się też, że nie wstawałem rano, bo leżałem chory, ale to nie zdarzało się i nie zdarza często. oczywiście, kiedyś zdarzy się, że w ogóle nie wstanę, ale to na szczęście zdarzy się tylko raz i już się nie powtórzy.
i usually (almost always) get up early or quite early. i don't remember me getting up at noon or even after noon. it happened i got up at night – it means so early in the morning that quite obviously it was a night, a deep black night, not even the time before a dawn, because absolutely nothing indicated that soon the deep blackness would get shallow and transform into greyness, very dense and thick greyness, anyway greyness (season of the year was of no importance, although snowbanks or carpets of decaying yellow-brown leaves would somehow influence the blackness) – for example when i had to set out on a trip to arrive to a certain place at a certain hour. it happened i didn't get up in the morning, because i was lying ill, but this hasn't happened often. of course, one day i will not get up at all, i even won't wake up, but luckily this will happen only once and will not repeat.
