hapo, makundi mengi yakawa yanaandamana pamoja na yesu. basi, akawageukia akawaambia,

and as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

wala usimt'ii tuliye mghafilisha moyo wake asitukumbuke, na akafuata matamanio yake yakawa yamepita mpaka.
and do not follow him whose heart we have made neglectful of our remembrance – the one who has followed his own desires and his matter has crossed the limits.

mfano wake ni kama mvua ambayo huwafurahisha wakulima mimea yake, kisha hunyauka ukayaona yamepiga manjano kisha yakawa mabua.
here is a similitude: how rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away.

huko, wakiwa wanamtazama, akageuka sura, uso wake ukang'aa kama jua na mavazi yake yakawa meupe kama nuru.
and was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

je! aliye yafuata ya kumridhisha mwenyezi mungi ni kama yule aliye stahiki ghadhabu ya mwenyezi mungu, na makaazi yake yakawa jahannamu?
is he who follows the good pleasure of allah like him who is laden with allah's wrath and whose abode is hell?

aliye yafuata ya kumridhisha mwenyezi mungi ni kama yule aliye stahiki ghadhabu ya mwenyezi mungu, na makaazi yake yakawa jahannamu? napo ni mahala pabaya pa kurejea.
are those who seek god's pleasure equal to those who incur his wrath and whose dwelling will be hell, the terrible destination?

wala macho yako yasiwaruke kwa kutaka pambo la maisha ya dunia. wala usimt'ii tuliye mghafilisha moyo wake asitukumbuke, na akafuata matamanio yake yakawa yamepita mpaka.
and do not turn your eyes away from them desiring the good things of this life, nor obey he whose heart we have made neglectful of our remembrance; so that he follows his own lust, and his affair has become excessive.

jueni ya kwamba maisha ya dunia ni mchezo, na pumbao, na pambo, na kujifakhirisha baina yenu na kushindana kwa wingi wa mali na watoto. mfano wake ni kama mvua ambayo huwafurahisha wakulima mimea yake, kisha hunyauka ukayaona yamepiga manjano kisha yakawa mabua.
know that this world's life is only sport and play and gaiety and boasting among yourselves, and a vying in the multiplication of wealth and children, like the rain, whose causing the vegetation to grow, pleases the husbandmen, then it withers away so that you will see it become yellow, then it becomes dried up and broken down; and in the hereafter is a severe chastisement and (also) forgiveness from allah and (his) pleasure; and this world's life is naught but means of deception.
