then will i visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

אתה בשבט תכנו ונפשו משאול תציל׃
thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

אל תמנע מנער מוסר כי תכנו בשבט לא ימות׃
