o my people , what is wrong with me that i am calling you to preservation , while you invite me to the fire !
« ወገኖቼም ሆይ ! ወደ መዳን የምጠራችሁ ስኾን ወደ እሳትም የምትጠሩኝ ስትኾኑ ለኔ ምን አለኝ !

and i am not ( here ) to repulse believers .
« እኔም አማኞችን አባራሪ አይደለሁም ፡ ፡

do you believe that you will be left here to live securely in the present state
« በዚያ እዚህ ባለው ( ጸጋ ) ውስጥ የረካችሁ ኾናችሁ ትተዋላችሁን

as my freedom is harmed in this country, i am here to protect my freedom.
ሲጀመርም ሲማ ናን የዩንቨርስቲውን አስተዳዳሪ ሊ ጂንባዎንን በማወደስ ጀመሩት፡፡

the prison is dearer to me than to what they invite me . if you do not turn away their schemes from me , i will incline towards them and become one of the senseless . ’
« ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ወደርሱ ከሚጠሩኝ ነገር ( ከዝሙት ) ይልቅ መታሰር ለእኔ የተወደደ ነው ፡ ፡ ተንኮላቸውንም ከእኔ ላይ ባትመልስልኝ ወደነሱ እዘነበላለሁ ፡ ፡ ከስህተተኞቹም እሆናለሁ » አለ ፡ ፡

undoubtedly , that to which you invite me has no invitation in the world nor in the hereafter , and indeed our return will be to allah , and indeed it is the transgressors who will be inmates of the fire .
« በእርግጥ ወደእርሱ የምትጠሩብኝ ( ጣዖት ) ለእርሱ በቅርቢቱም ኾነ በመጨረሻይቱ ዓለም ( ተሰሚ ) ጥሪ የለውም ፡ ፡ መመለሻችንም በእርግጥ ወደ አላህ ነው ፡ ፡ ወሰን አላፊዎቹም እነሱ የእሳት ጓዶች ናቸው ፡ ፡

you invite me to disbelieve in allah and associate with him that of which i have no knowledge , and i invite you to the exalted in might , the perpetual forgiver .
« በአላህ ልክድና በእርሱም ለእኔ ዕውቀት የሌለኝን ነገር በእርሱ እንዳጋራ ትጠሩኛላችሁ ፡ ፡ እኔም ወደ አሸናፊው ፤ መሓሪው ( አላህ ) እጠራችኋለሁ ፡ ፡

he supplicated : ' lord , prison is dearer to me than that to which they invite me . yet if you do not shield me from their guile i shall yield to them and be one of the ignorant '
« ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ወደርሱ ከሚጠሩኝ ነገር ( ከዝሙት ) ይልቅ መታሰር ለእኔ የተወደደ ነው ፡ ፡ ተንኮላቸውንም ከእኔ ላይ ባትመልስልኝ ወደነሱ እዘነበላለሁ ፡ ፡ ከስህተተኞቹም እሆናለሁ » አለ ፡ ፡

« በእርግጥ ወደእርሱ የምትጠሩብኝ ( ጣዖት ) ለእርሱ በቅርቢቱም ኾነ በመጨረሻይቱ ዓለም ( ተሰሚ ) ጥሪ የለውም ፡ ፡ መመለሻችንም በእርግጥ ወደ አላህ ነው ፡ ፡ ወሰን አላፊዎቹም እነሱ የእሳት ጓዶች ናቸው ፡ ፡

he said : my lord ! the prison house is dearer to me than that to which they invite me ; and if thou turn not away their device from me , i will yearn towards them and become ( one ) of the ignorant .
« ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ወደርሱ ከሚጠሩኝ ነገር ( ከዝሙት ) ይልቅ መታሰር ለእኔ የተወደደ ነው ፡ ፡ ተንኮላቸውንም ከእኔ ላይ ባትመልስልኝ ወደነሱ እዘነበላለሁ ፡ ፡ ከስህተተኞቹም እሆናለሁ » አለ ፡ ፡

he said , " my lord , prison is more to my liking than that to which they invite me . and if you do not avert from me their plan , i might incline toward them and [ thus ] be of the ignorant . "
