वह इसलिये भाग जाता है कि वह मजदूर है, और उस को भेड़ों की चिन्ता नहीं।

as a servant who earnestly desires the shadow, as a hireling who looks for his wages,
जैसा कोई दास छाया की अभिलाषा करे, वा मजदूर अपनी मजदूरी की आशा रखे;

as a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work:
जैसा कोई दास छाया की अभिलाषा करे, वा मजदूर अपनी मजदूरी की आशा रखे;

is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?
क्या मनुष्य को पृथ्वी पर कठिन सेवा करनी नहीं पड़ती? क्या उसके दिन मजदूर के से नहीं होते?

for thus hath the lord said unto me, within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of kedar shall fail:
क्योंकि प्रभु ने मुझ से यों कहा है, मजदूर के वर्षों के अनुसार एक वर्ष में केदार का सारा विभव मिटाया जाएगा;

it shall not seem hard to you, when you let him go free from you; for to the double of the hire of a hireling has he served you six years: and yahweh your god will bless you in all that you do.
जब तू उसको अपने पास से स्वतंत्रा करके जाने दे, तब उसे छोड़ देना तुझ को कठिन न जान पड़े; क्योंकि उस ने छ: वर्ष दो मजदूरों के बराबर तेरी सेवा की है। और तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तेरे सारे कामों में तुझ को आशीष देगा।।

and i will come near to you to judgment; and i will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the lord of hosts.
तब मैं न्याय करने को तुम्हारे निकट आऊंगा; और टोन्हों, और व्यभिचारियों, और झूठी किरिया खानेवालों के विरूद्ध, और जो मजदूर की मजदूरी को दबाते, और विधवा और अनाथों पर अन्धेर करते, और परदेशी का न्याय बिगाड़ते, और मेरा भय नहीं मानते, उन सभों के विरूद्ध मैं तुरन्त साक्षी दूंगा, सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।।
